First time seeing a travel video about San Francisco I have been living here for 10 years now and I am love this city with my heart. Such a special place.
This is my go to San Francisco video when I start to get home sick. I have been living in Denmark for close to 50 years, but you can take the girl out of San Francisco, but you can't take San Francisco out of the girl. I am from the Flower Power generation and have outrageous memories. Thank you for your great work.
I came by ship to this beautiful city, after leaving Australia and spending 21 days at sea we arrived at the beautiful majestic Golden Gate Bridge. We passed under all the bridges, Alcatraz Island, enjoyed the skyline and continued sailing all the way to Stockton port. Amazing! Keep going, waiting for Seattle and Canadian cities of Vancouver and Montreal
SF Native here, it's not called the Bay Area Bridge, it's the Bay Bridge. It's known for being the workhorse of the bridges around here, due to the heavy load of commuters it gets. Thank you for taking the time to show my hometown off.
Thank you for the video, I live in Liverpool in the UK and along with my Brother will be visiting San Francisco in April 2023, you have given me some ideas of where to visit. Much appreciated.
Hello from Gran Canaria Ken. Did You have a good time with your brother? Im taking my 13 year old boy and spanish wife in september Any recomendations to visit ? 😊
You just cannot beat a beautiful sunny day in SFO. Look at that gorgeous blue skies. Sad not seeing much people around the city. Hopefully by now, there is more activity.
Moved to SF from New Jersey for work right in the middle of the pandemic. The city has definitely come alive again, at least from when I first moved here.
👏🏻 Hands down one of the best guides of San Fran I have seen so far. Thank you! I’m visiting later this year and you have presented a enjoyable, easy going travel guide for me to plan a few days in San Fran. No need for me to look any further! 👍
Jeff, DeJaVu, I grew up in the Bay Area, Best of the West! In 6th Grade we toured SF Bank of America Building, Ghirardelli (Mint Chocolate my all time favorite) Roller Skating in Golden Gate Park, Night Life, Concerts Bands, Baseball, and Buildings. Your tours are so informative, are you a SEABEE? I heard you called Chief.
I love San Francisco, hope to live there one day, I live in Spain but I want San Francisco.. I love united States and American people They are great!!!
Hey man GREAT video really enjoyed watching it! My girlfriend and I are thinking about a trip to SF for a couple nights and were wondering about how much of the businesses are open? I think that's our main concern to see if it would be worth it to go now or wait some more until things are fully opened up. Thank you!
This video is a good representation of SF in covid times but the city before was bustling out of control. Now it is a ghost town as shown in the video.
Ghirardelli is not pronounced like you say it. the Gh is like G in Gary. also just the "Bay Bridge" not Bay Area Bridge. Also the SF Bay Area is 4th or 5th largest in US depending how it's defined.. also *transamerica. not Primerica. sorry to be all handslappy but we have proud in our home :) thanks for the great video.
Cable cars are NOT street cars. You completely blew past landmarks City Lights Bookstore and Vesuvio. Hmm. Also, they are the Painted Ladies, not the painted sisters. Transamerica Pyramid, not Primerica building. And while Lombard is called the crookedest street in the world, it’s actually a section of Vermont Street that is the most crooked street in San Francisco. Not all the facts are right but I appreciate the scenery.
Sorry/Not sorry to be persnickety: It’s the “Painted Ladies,” not the “Painted Sisters.” Painted Ladies is a term meaning prostitutes. Ladies of the Evening. The myriad of colors on the homes reflect that sensibility, as they have since the 1940s. Like makeup. I once lived two blocks from that glorious lineup of houses.
As a local, make sure you absolutely DO NOT leave anything of value in your rental car no matter where the car is parked. No area is safe! Thieves will hit GG Park, Fisherman’s Wharf, Downtown, Chinatown, The Beach, Twin Peaks, Japantown. Leave the big expensive SLR cameras at home because if they see that around your neck you’ll stick out like a sore thumb. Other than that, enjoy!
For car: hide your valuables, lock the car, DO NOT leave any items (including groceries) unattended in plain site, lock them in the trunk. Gun point car jackings are a thing here. Personal belongings: keep items zipped inside pockets to avoid pick pockets, smash & grab. Be street smart & remain alert of your surroundings. Neighborhoods to avoid: Bay View/Hunters Point, Tenderloin, Civic Center, South of Market Area (SOMA). Most dangerous street corners: Turk & Taylor Streets; 3rd & Palou; 6th--7th--8th Streets @ Market; Mission Street from 6th St to 29th St. Even the local police are afraid to go these locations alone. Visit only the major iconic tourist areas but avoid looking like a tourist for safety reasons; take a local guide with you if possible. Avoid conversations with aggressive panhandlers (beggars) & individuals appearing to be homeless. Recommend a class in basic general street safety prior to visiting San Francisco. Avoid late night crowds in dark areas. If you want to visit small local neighborhoods, have trusted locals guide you--even the fiercely independent get hacked here eventually. I want you to enjoy your trip, have a good experience, return safely, & recommend San Francisco to others.
A cable car is NOT a street car. And it's Painted Ladies, not painted sisters. And I've never heard it called the Bay Area Bridge (really?!) It's simply called the Bay Bridge.
I have visited twice this city, first one was 5 yrs ago, and second one was last week. In two visit, got broke into rental car, stole whatever they can reach in the trunk in daylight, central and busy location. When i arrived at the police station, i counted 6 different burglary case, broken windows, lost passport, ids, moneys, cameras, bags. There was a guy which had stolen nearly everything, and he was shocked and not know what to do. Desperation, angry, ruined travel plans. SFPD should solve this problem immediately. I dont think i will visit again and recommend to keep your valuables with you.
Sorry that happened to you. You should've driven north on the GH Bridge to Marin County where it is more scenic and safer. I lived there 30 years and I can say it's marvelous!!!
This was a beautiful video. So well orchestrated. You've made me feel as if I was right alongside you. Terrific video. You got me all riled up to head out west and check out San Francisco. I'm a native New Yorker and I've always had a passion for this town for its architecture, sea views, and food. Loved the sea lions chilling out at the seaport. Priceless. Thank you.
I stayed in San Francisco ❤ for me is the best City in U.S.: open and friendly people...wonderful...I lost my heart in San Francisco, like an old sing...❤❤❤❤ I hope a day to see again "Frisco"...with my great love from Italy 🇮🇹🌟❤
