I was on the USS Lexington in 1970 (MRFN) on a family day cruise that had some Sea Scouts aboard, I was impressed with their knowledge of the shipboard activities.
@@thediodoin1000 We had regota's competition's that is. Dances, good friends. Learning about how to handle a boat/ship and how to operate it. And going out on them. For us it was in the delta and the bay in California but some can go out into the ocean.
All they need to do is join..we had a black CO and that was back in the late 70s and 80s. All who can follow orders and instructions and can put down there phone and don't worry about what others might think ( the cool crowd ) are welcome to check it out and join. I had a blast being a part of the SS.VALLEJO. With Harold Scott in charge and Dave Boddit as 2nd
