Can you speak on La Fortuna and Monte Verde from Lib airport or SJO airport. Which way has better/easier roads to drive on if renting a car? What is the time difference between the two and does one over the other offer better personal shuttles? Thank you for your videos. Great content.
Hi Stephanie, sure, good question. Luckily it’s about the same from either airport which is about 2.5 hours. The roads are pretty good with a few potholes but I do recommend having google maps or waze as signage isn’t always available. Then between the two is about an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours. Both have lots of options for shuttles! Check out Interbus and Costa Rican Shuttle. Ahhh thanks! And thank you for watching them! :) cheers!!!
Had the exact same question, thanks for asking & @salt travel thanks for the reply. I agree your videos have been so helpful in planning my trip for next year, I am enjoying watching them also!
Hello, I don't although I love the idea. I lived there a few times during my 15 years and it is a great topic and a great area. Do you have any specific questions i can address? Thanks for the suggestion!
@@SaltTravelCo Just about life of snowbirds and expats. Why did they choose Costa Rica, and why Escazú. How they deal with the healthcare issues probably at the CIMA hospital, how much is their Caja and private coverage, do they pay cash. Their cost of living compared to back home. Doing their errands, shopping, etc. In general life in CR.
hi there! i'm considering a flight that gets into liberia airport at 6:30 am on a Thursday, of course check in time is usually 2 or 3 pm for hotels/rentals. Is there traffic usually driving towards guanacaste ? I dont know what we would do with all of our luggage not being able to check in to our stay in Tamarindo
I apologize for the delay. Hotels usually have a baggage check where you can keep your luggage in between arriving and check-in. I suggest to pack a swimsuit in an easy to grab spot, change into beach entire and start enjoying your vacation ASAP :) cheers
Hi, we are flying to LIR TO STAY AT ANDAZ RESORT at Peninsular Papagayo next Month. Do I need to book a taxi ahead of time? Is it easy to grab a taxi at the airport?
Hi there! :) although taxis accumulate when flights arrive I think I’d prefer to have arranged a shuttle (possibly through the resort) before hand for peace of mind. Sounds like a lovely trip! Enjoy
Hi 🙃 I don’t know if you can help me with this question but I’m going to Costa Rica next month, I’m gonna stay in Santa Cruz but I bought my flight to San Jose airport because was extremely cheaper than fly to Liberia airport. Do you know any easy and fast way for me to get around Santa Cruz ? ( my friend will land in Liberia so he can pick me up somewhere closer to this side of Costa Rica)
Hi Izabela, yes, fortunately there is great transportation throughout Costa Rica! you could look into the semi private shuttles such as Interbus or the direct bus. The bus is heading to Tamarindo and Liberia from San Jose will go through Santa Cruz. Let the driver know when you get on that you would like to get off there and he will let you know when you arrive. Santa Cruz itself is walkable and well connected to other areas in Guanacaste by the bus system. I’ve never actually heard of anyone vacationing in Santa Cruz but it would be a great way to get to experience the real local side of Costa Rica which should be fun :) that area has a strong cowboy culture so check out a rodeo if you can and also check out the local handmade ceramics of Guaitil.
