I love all languages of Pakistan, including Urdu, the only language I do not like is the language of Altaf Hussan (Kuta) this is a language of division.

The song is about the story of Marui. The story of Umar Marui is that Marui was a young Thari girl abducted by then-ruler of Umarkot, Umar, who wanted to marry her because of her beauty. Upon her refusal she was imprisoned in the historic Umerkot Fort for several years. Because of her courage, Marui is regarded as a symbol of love for one's soil and homeland. The poetry mentioned, describes after Umer (the ruler), who got inspired from her love of her home land, and her refusal to get marry, despite her being so poor, and him offering her all luxuries of life. He namd her his sister. the poetry now depicting about her fears,that now as she is getting back to her family and tribe, will they be accepting her ? and trust her to be pious ? as the poetry suggests: Parchan shaal pavar dholiya maaru moosaan parchan shaal pavar i wish my tribe and family (panhwar) will accept me as pure, and be happy to see me the marru (my people) will be accepting me as I was before my abduction in the fort. in sufi meaning it describes ones life full of sins and wrong doings will the Almighty be accepting the sinner while his/her journey back to HIM ? So the Bhitai (Shah Abdul Lafif Bhitai) correlating as he regularly does in his poetry full of stories, to life of human and his relations with Almighty. Adiyoun shah lateef chave miyan lalaon lal lateif chave miyan saturu rakhje Sattar dholiya maru moosaan parchan shal pava This stanza descirbes Shah himself naming himself while narrating story like poets does. describes about one characteristic name (Sattar: the secret keeper) of Almighty praying and pleading that The Sattar please keep my secret don't disclose my sins. and Pray that Almighty please I may be accepted as I am.

What a wonderful composition! We can find such soulful compositions with melodious voices in Pakistan only. Rahat Sahab continues the legacy of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab and Sanam Marvi's rendition is beyond idea of comparison.

Hi Mehran, i can´t speak for every Brazilian but i just l-o-v-e it. But our musicians , the non commercial music , like to know many kinds of musicality. I get astonished... mesmerized by the sencibility... technique that an Abida, Sanam, Sayeen, Rahat AK have..They look as if they have an complex instrument instead of ordinary vocal chords.
Is that why rahat Fateh Ali Khan was humiliated and abused on Indian airport? they even took all his money. BTW no body needs ur stinky love and fake respect?

11 years ago i used to listen to this song on my headphones in my university Imperial College library while doing my work. Time really flies. The singers here look so young! But i am also 10 years older now mother of children. Bas ye bhi aik memory bangyi jab tak ke yadasht sath degi zindagi mai.

You know, salvation of mankind is hidden right here in Sufism. Imagine Sufis who had no material world yet they saw Him every where and loved Him every moment !!

Sindhi is not Pakistani language... I'm proud to be Sindhi but Pakistan is involved in practicing discrimination against Sindh and Sindhi people especially Sindhi Hindus..... Pakistan is involved in forced conversion of Sindhi Hindus and Sindhi genocide in Pakistan occupied Sindh.

It’s a story of Marvi who was kidnapped by king Amar or umer but she was attached with her poor parents and fiancee and home.in end he gave her Ajrak and respect and send her back home.Its spiritual meaning is we all came from one soul and we all want to meet that Noor. There are many meanings in this one story and every one can interpreted differently.this is a very old folk story of Indus Valley civilization but Shah Latin teaches us a lot.my favorite part although umer king was villan but the way he give respect this women in end .shah latif remember him in his poetry as Hero.
This is from Latif's umar marvi, this whole chapter of his book is about love of the land and it's people. Here Marui is longing for her land and people when she was kept captive against her wishes by king Umar/Amar.
