Imagine downing a duck and upon retrival seeing " Repent ye Sinner " written on its banded leg. Thats close what happened to me a few years ago hunting on a tributary of the Cape Fear River in coastal NC. Id read about Jack Miner and his refuge he called the " Mission " but didnt know if " missionaries" were still released to spread His word. They are and I recieved a quote from the book of Psalms " God is our Refuge " delivered by one of Jack s missionaries that made the trip in 3 days or less. Thank you Jack, RIP what a awesome idea . God bless your Mission and the beautiful birds that spread His word exactly where Ive always felt closest to the Lord.
We visted a few times in summers. My Grandpa was a second cousin of Jack Miner through Wigle family.. We met his son and got to go into the nice home and visit. My Mom would to visit her cousins we drove from California.
What year was this filmed ? I am from Essex County and this place was huge in the community ! Sadly I feel that it has been slowly forgotten over the years although I still go and see the Museum least once a year and feed the birds & walk around.
