Sand Blaster Roller Coaster POV Daytona Beach Boardwalk Joyland Amusements Florida 

So glad to see this coaster still in operation! I used to ride this all day when it was in Delgrosso park in PA. For those asking it's a Pinfari Zyclon coaster built in 1971 for Adventure Park in Illinois, then moved to Legend City in Pheonix Arizona in 1978. In 1987 it was moved to Delgrosso park in Pennsylvania. In 2004 it went to Blue Diamond park in Delaware, and now I'm very glad to see it still operational in Florida. Enjoy it guys, it was my childhood favorite :)

Rode it last week. Pretty good for a small coaster. Nothing to write home about, but the Boardwalk needed something. For $6 bucks and less than a minute long - I'll ride it again. Noisy, but appeared safe! Whoo-hoo!

That coaster just fucking derailed today, 2 days after me and my grandpa were talking about how unsafe it was while walking past it

Formerly the only coaster in my state, Delaware. It was know as the Blue Diamond Streak and was removed when Blue Diamond Park closed. I never got to ride it, but it's good to see that it's in a much better park!

All of the airtime is in the back train; The front train is considerably milder. This coaster is very smooth, esp for it's age.

For a state known for its mega parks im sure this tiny amusement is nothing compare to the Big Boys...however it would still be fun to go there one day.:) I looked it up both the coaster and that sling shot ride looks a lot of fun. I dont live in Florida but i am visiting in Florida now.

Oh the glorious nostalgia that this roller coaster brings me! If this even includes a hand operated end brake zone, its a splitting image of a traveling amusement that used to come to the fair here where I live. Unfortunately there was an incident one year where the brake operator was distracted, and an incoming train hit the back of a waiting train in the station, so it never returned after that. Thanks to this video, I can ride it again. --Mozdoc

I love the sand blaster in Daytona Beach,Fl. I rode it 6 times in a row. I live across the street from Boardwalk. It's awesome!! :)

Looks like your standard old school steel coaster. Been on a couple of these, the one I remember most was up in Amarillo, Tx's Wonderland Amusement Park. Definitely a good starter coaster for older children.

What is the model called? I'm sure I have ridden this elsewhere. Nice view - good collaboration.

Looked this ride up on RCDB. Turns out this coaster has been to quite a few theme parks and has been operating since at least the 1960s.

I saw you guys in a coasterforce vid. It was outlaw run. They filmed backwards and you were there.

Who made this one? It looks very similar to a Schwarzkopf Wildcat. We have one at the yearly fair. Also - does this have upstops? As far as I know the Schwarzkopf doesn't and it always scares me.

The first thing that popped in my head was that this looks similar to the Coaster that got moved into the ocean by Hurricane Sandy. O_o

First off this looks like it was taped right after it opened so why would they need to be pushed off to start? Maybe they didn't design enough of an incline to roll the cars to the lift chain? Second, no brakes on the last turn going into the station? It seems they shouldn't have a drop just before the station like that. It's no wonder they're overshooting the station! Third, this coaster bears a lot of resemblance to the old Jet Star at Seaside Heights, NJ, the one washed out to sea by Hurricane Sandy. Although it's missing Jet Star's sharp angled first drop the rest of the layout is very similar. Finally I would put this on my bucket list since it is one of the types of coasters I like to ride but after reading other comments about a derailment I'm not too sure about that.

It's such a fun place it's like a ginet fair there they have a 7 different roller costers and a water park also

U should go to Michigan adventurs they have a roller coster called shivering timbers and its so much fun they have huge drops up to 108 drop and there are 4 drops and lots of sharp turns at Michigan adventures its only 15 dollers a person and 8 to park

there is a replica of this at clacton (england) but the only difference is that there is no train link, it's just one car at a time.

Looks like a lot of fun for a smaller coaster.

Was there a few hours ago. Its extremely run down rusted out and trash everywhere on the lot. I don't think it's still open but if it is... It doesn't look like it should be. located next to rusted out graveyard of like 60 go-karts next door.

Funny how everyone has ideas about what went wrong. Lets wait for the report people. We all know up-stops failed and its clear there was a lot of weight on it. Lets focus on what went right. The cars didn't crash to the ground and it looks like the 3rd car is locked in the track brakes so way to go track team for aiding the riders when things went wrong and getting them out of this in one piece. There survivors and you ride rides taking those risks we all take for the thrills. life goes on for them all and that's a great day.

This is the type of coaster I really am scared of because they look they can fall apart and/or the car can come of the track, although this one looks reliable.
