We want to do the same trek in this october,but unfortunately gorkha bhavan clearly told us that they have no rooms left.Is it possible to book the guide and the hotels from other places?
Yes, there are other hotels in Sandakphu. Most of them can be booked by phone call and money transfer to their accounts. Search in google, google map, facebook etc. for the available hotels. But, most of the cases they are costlier than the Trekkers' Hut.
great video sir... I am going for the same trek in the month of May,2017... sir can you please advice some shoes for this trek under rs1000/-... Will a pair of sneakers do the job.. i have a pair of woodland bulldozer shoes but I feel they are heavy, non breathable and slippery on wet condition.. this is my first trek and I have no experience... and any other useful tips or suggestions would be of great help... thank you
Hi Prantik, yes, a pair of sneakers will do the job. Still there are advantages of proper trekking shoes. 1. After the trek your sneakers might become non-wearable anymore. So, avoid wearing costly sneakers. 2. Waterproof trekking shoes are good to have. It can save you in rain. 3. Grip in trekking shows are better. One of our trek mate even had to walk on sandals for one day due to blisters. So, don't worry and have fun :)

My wife and I want to go on Sandakphu trek. Is it possible for just two of us to take the journey? I am bit concerned about safety and security stuffs. . Also, can you add a detail route map for the trek. There are so many video and various starting points.
Sandakphu is a very common trek these days. I have seen couples are trekking in this route on their own. Being said so, I myself will prefer to take a local guide.
Hi, I just need some info from you....1) If we do not book any lodge or trek huts in advance will rooms be available on spot ? , 2) What's the average cost to stay in a lodge or trek huts ? 3 ) Is taking a guide mandate and how much do they charge ?
Hi Amritendu, Answer to your questions: 1) Availability depends upon the rush. Many people, especially smaller groups, go without booking. 2) That also depends where you are staying. It may be as low as Rs. 300. Higher can be 3000 especially in Sandakphu. 3) As far as I know, a local guide is mandatory to get the permission at Tumling. Not very sure about recent changes if any.
@@PrasenjitGhoshCse It was awesome. I went with India Hikes. All strangers initially but became good friends and are still in touch. We want in the end of April and experienced everything. Full bloom of Rhododendron, hail storms and of course clear view of the Sleeping Buddha. Totally worth.

Yes, you can go. Cost depends upon how many persons are going, staying where, what food you are taking, whether taking porter/guide or not etc. We were 16 persons and for us per head cost was around 10K
That depends upon who is the organizer, your group size, where are you staying, food preference etc. Typically it may varry between 10K-15K per head. I know people who have managed the entire trip with much lower budget and with few compromises.

Smoking is a personal choice. Few people cant resist my friend :) You now what happened? When they were tired, they smoked and got totally refreshed. Its strange. Although I don't support smoking during the trek at all.
