In our times, either a bigger sibling or cousin of same sex would teach these lessons, or a sex education and etiquette book would be given to privately read to new adults and may ask questions if necessary. This didn't use to make us feel shy and giggle and break the ice between everyone and we were happy to keep things private. BTW, is there any study that shows that such open sex education lessens rape cases? Then why rape cases have increased in those countries who had initiated open sex education much earlier? And forget about fornication in those countries. Is it good to follow their footsteps in false hope? The purpose of sex education is to let people know about safe sex, pregnancy and related diseases, etc. but not specifically about preventing rape. I am not against sex education, but I am pretty sure that open discussions in class would harm the conservative culture of our region. It is a separate debate whether one should care for the culture or not.
I'm strictly with sex education but the major reason of increasing rape and other crimes is to not teach about concent and other safety measures at a early age when we r just about to hit puberty and also a major reason is the orthodox mentality of Indian society representing sex as a bad thing to young children and not as a natural activity so when the very active teen hits it's puberty and is told about sex he/she is very confused many nations provide condom vending machines in high schools so that people can have safe sex which is both good and bad but to look to the brighter side now children r not paranoid of sex rather they are more open to talk about it and in india you are silenced and judged if you talk about sex which plays a vibrant role not sex education in previous times there was domestic sexual assault and ppl were too shy to report and now they take their stands that's why u see more recorded cases not that out of nowhere rapes started it is good that women and many men r Taking action against such activities and not just being shy
