I can remember 10yrs 2months ago I joined the SANDF (SAAF) fresh out of university wow wow people what a journey it has been for me thus far! Today I am a young Capt and responsible as Adjutant for general discipline and legal administration on AFB Ysterplaat Cape Town. Anything is possible when put your all into it

My son is a 2019 MSDS recruit, we attended the Passing out parade and I was in awe! I salute you, this journey is not easy but well worth it in the end. It is litteraly blood sweat and tears, sheer will power and determination. Super proud of you guys!!Well done young lady!
Such a great way to start a career. People have no idea about the great skills you can learn in the army. Why does the government not promote and invest more in our military as a way to grow talent? So proud to see this. I see a future leader.

This was refreshing. It's good to hear educated soldiers, especially in SA. Sure everyone says it's gone to hell and will never be what it was. I disagree, they have won fights in other areas of Africa. Once the ANC gets voted out because it needs to be , hopefully real change can happen. The wealth gap is just too big, corruption is obviously rampant and the bigger cities are in disrepair.
The MSDS programme is 2 years. Basic training is 22 weeks long after which you'll go for advanced training or officer training. First year is always training. Second year is deployment. I'm not sure about visiting family though.

SANDF needs more funding. We spend double the SANDF budget on alcohol. Also, our equipment needs to be localized as much as possible to reduce costs and boost the economy.

@@TheMedicalDemon that's such a poor excuse. Good training gets you to a certain point but poor equipment can prevent you from reaching an army's full potential. These soldiers deserve better, especially if they're putting their lives to defending their country.
They wake up at 3 we woke at at 5 in the core they put there silverware on the bed and a disassembled rifle on there bed we didn’t do that in the core different types of bullshit but same old bullshit the military 😂😂
