"Lost in Pine" it is not just a catchy name we thought of. We picked this name because our Offroading, Overlanding, Rockcrawling, life together began with randomly choosing trails as the turns came. No GPS telling us where to go, but that's a catch 22, we also often didn't know where we were at as well. Hence Lost in Pine. In this adventure, we seek out a trail with little information and poor reference pictures to get a sense of our roots. Now obviously if you have been jeeping for a time or two you should know that exactly what we are doing is dangerous, and 100% not recommended. Although we have left you a map right here:

If you'd like to follow our route or camp at the amazingly private campsite we found back here. Be sure to give our sponsors a shout as well. Without them, our adventures couldn't happen:

What other trails in Colorado do you think are underrated?
@MHand52
@MHand52 3 месяца назад
Myself and my offroad buddies have been switching to Falken Wildpeaks, I had 2 sets of AT3W and will most likely be putting the new AT4W on my new Ranger. On the same trails, they have better grip than K02s and are tenfold better in snow and ice for our winters. Big ups from CO Springs

We ended up going with the patagonia MT02. They worked very well if you look through some of our other content. Now we are tire shopping again for the JK build. Thank you for the advice!

@719LostInpine those are a great offroad tire and very affordable, just not as good a compound for cold applications for a daily. Should do fine for this stuff tho!

Interesting. I just bought a 2024 Colorado ZR2, and was looking to swap out the Wranglers (not snow rated) with either the new K03's or the Falken Wildpeaks AT3W or AT4W. I was looking to upgrade the size from the OEM 285/70/17's (33's) to 285/75/17's (34's) so the spare will still fit under the bed (unlike the Bison). Since we get snow here in the higher elevations (SW CO), it looks to me from the siping that the Falken would do a little better in the snow, so, thoughts on the AT3W vs AT4W? Thanks!

@MHand52 2 месяца назад
@kx8960 ha I almost got a ZR2 as well but got a better trade in at the Ford dealership on a Ranger. Great truck you got. There's not enough time out there on the AT4 to say if its better or worse than the AT3, I think depending on size availability and cost will drive which one I get. I'd like the new ones, but if I can save $50 a tire getting the old ones I'd do it in a heartbeat

@@MHand52 I hear you. I looked at a Ranger Raptor (almost got a Bronco Sasquatch first), but the extra $6k for the same equipment (moonroof not available in the 'Raptor etc.) was one factor, and the fact that the dealers here were all going to add absurd markups ($5k to $10k+) sealed the deal on the ZR2. If the 34's fit, and I can get a decent price for my lightly used OEM tires, I'll probably go with the Falken even though I've never run that brand before. And, I'd probably get the 4's simply because, in my experience, the new model of tire has always been better in at least one area (usually several) than the old model, and never worse in any area. I've heard good things about the Falken tires (including your opinion), so, I'll probably try them. Thanks! Oh, and nice "Fast Times" reference...LOL

I kind of freaked out a little bit at 13:53. During this video I sneezed at about 13:52 and the video popped up with a "bless you". I thought they were taking listening to you on the phone all the time to a whole another level. I had to rewind it a little bit to see if I miss something and then I heard you sneeze 😂😂

My favorite trails are the ones less traveled, the exploration and discovering whats around the next corner is what keeps me going

@719LostInpine 11 месяцев назад
100% there are SOOOO many unknown trails out there too. I think people fall into a habit of just following the featured trails they see on the maps sometimes.

BFG KO2's. These are the best for rocks, gravel, and snow. Been running them since the 70's. Tried others, and they aren't as good. I have them on my truck. Another good the toyo open country at3. The traction on these is great in gravel. Not as good in the enow though. These are on my suv and don't do much extreme with it.

Have you guys ever driven FS 379 Frosty Park road at the base of Mt. Rosa off of Old Stage road? If not, I'd love to take you guys, it's a bit of a challenging but worth it drive that many off-roaders don't talk about enough. I have a 4x4 Dodge Dakota I'd be driving for the trip. I live in Colorado Springs and try to make excursions as often as I can. For a long time it was a fairly easy dirt road, and may be why it's underrated. Now it's mostly an exposed rock path that's barely a road anymore. Followed all the way up, it goes past Mt. Almagre to High Park where it looks like there might be really nice, fairly isolated camping.

Yes, however, not sharing new trails causes congestion on our popular ones, which drives closure on them due to overcrowding and harsh effects on the environment. People spreading out may mean seeing others on the trails, but overall, it will result in less congestion and adverse impacts.
