Rose Williams, Ben Lloyd Hughes & Eloise Webb are interviewed for Sanditon Season 2, The second series of Sanditon based on Jane Austen’s final, unfinished novel, picks up the action nine months after the first season, as the town grows in popularity, and features characters familiar and new.
The new series sees the return of Rose Williams, Crystal Clarke, Anne Reid, Kris Marshall, Kate Ashfield, Jack Fox, Charlotte Spencer, Turlough Convery, Lily Sacofsky and Adrian Scarborough.
We are also introduced to intriguing new characters this series who shake up the dynamic of the seaside town including Alison Heywood (Rosie Graham, Outlander), Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Industry), Colonel Francis Lennox (Tom Weston-Jones, Grace), Captain Declan Fraser (Frank Blake, Normal People), Captain William Carter (Maxim Ays, Still So Awkward) and Charles Lockhart (Alexander Vlahos, Versailles, Outlander). Ben has that rare quality where he can look at his scene partner and convey all the love, pain, and adoration that we want to see from a leading man. He just knows how to draw us in and I love it.

My daughter calls the Charlotte character a “Mary Sue”. We are both big fans. I love Ben, he’s adorable, especially the little smiles he gives.

When Ben mentioned Pride and Prejudice, I recently went back and rewatched an Indian-inspired film called Bride and Prejudice. Many of you should watch it because it features a variety of music and a storytelling style that is similar to that of Jane Austen. It is one of my favourite adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, with the exception of the version starring Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth.

I liked this a lot. It would be nice to know more about how they feel as actors about certain scenes. Like the one between Augusta and Alexander when she begs him to go after Charlotte. How did he feel about her delivery? Having to mount/hold the horse while delivering lines? How does he feel about horseback riding? Scary? What about the kissing scenes. What kind of prep, or mindset to get ready for that? The Hollywood not kiss? How much practicing? Costumes, cumbersome? Itchy? Very hot? Augusta having to be nasty to Charlotte? Breaking role play by laughing....etc, etc, etc!

La saison 2 est riche en émotions avec un petit coté comique (Allison), de très bons dialogues, les acteurs sont séduisants et habitent bien leur rôle respectif, j'attends la saison 3 en Français également...j'espère! Bravo à l'équipe de tournage qui a su mettre en évidence les scènes importantes.
