Hi boys love the show always found with 308 oil pump you need to pack it with vasoline before putting the oil filter on to get pressure

The coil hat at the end was a Devo hat. Also good to boil your thermostat to make sure it works. Some brand new ones are faulty. Best to find out before running in.

Love watching. It's like hanging out with mates. I got a brain injury 2 years ago at work and now I can't drive or work on my car anymore so it's good to watch you guys having fun.

Hey Lads, so I am not sure if you now this trick, but for putting on smal and tricky gasket goop, use a $2 Sarindge from the chemist. Fill it and then have way more contra over where it goes and how much...

The fuel pipe you bent up is great. In NZ we are not allowed braided fuel lines anymore for street cars. So I have been wondering how I would get on doing them, thanks for the tips.

Bloody stoked how good it looks and how it’s coming along. Surprised you didn’t have some pre bent “test” pieces of hard line for your radiuses. But it’s still mint even with a little bit of wasted tube, it’s definitely not as easy as you guys make it look that’s for sure! A good tip for when you cut bolts down, put a nut on it so when you cut them down you can wind the nut back off and it can chase the threads out again

See Duncan's comment below. YOU HAVE TO PRIME THE OIL PUMP AND FILTER. Pack pump with grease or vasoline and fill the filter with oil. I learned the hard way.

You can sometimes run the return spring mount underneath, to help filter clearance 😉

Most of the aftermarket thermostat housings have the oring now (aeroflow etc) and they work really well but I still goop everything too :P

The old oil filter installation recommends 1/2 turn after touching. I did that once and it leaked bad. Tight is right 👍

Their is a liqued thread sealer you can buy if that thread lock doesn't do the job. Pretty sure it is permaseal that do it.

Yeah I was sold a similar thermostat housing with an O ring for my last 186 build. Total crap, leaked, put a standard housing and gasket back on it. Spose the thing to remember about most of this aftermarket stuff is, one word, China.

Thanks mate, We’re going to run a wideband sensor in it so we can try tune the carby a little, just to make it easier for us as we have never tried tuning a carby before

Are you sure that’s the right thermostat housing? Thought it should have 2 heater hose outlets. One goes to the water pump then the other goes to the heater core

Hi Guys, total newbie here. Would love to put a 308 in a VK as a cruiser, plus pair it with an auto trans. Whats the ball park cost of something like this, buying the engine and transmission, if I got it from TJ like you did. Thanks guys

You gotta wait 3 more days while you should soak the spigot bush in oil. Otherwise you will have an annoying squeak when clutch is out. Soak until when you wipe oil off but it stays greasy

Put some silicone between the crank nose and the back of the harmonic balancer washer (the one you reckoned was 8mm thick) This is to prevent oil possibly coming out between the crank and balancer. I’ve seen it happen a few times. And…. Get a bloody handle on your file before you put it through your hand… I’ve seen that to lol… although the guy that did it wasn’t laughing.
