I remember seeing an interview where Betty White explained that her parents taught her very early to never be afraid of death because those who pass away finally get to discover the secret of what happens when we die. Now, Betty knows the secret. ❤️
Even though there isn't quite proof about the afterlife, that's mostly true. Besides that, I had heard that people who looked forward to becoming old enough to retire from their employments live longer than people who dreaded about becoming old.👍
@Betty, No evidence of that. Jesus was just a human, with good qualities, but who lived and died a long time ago. Later, people decided to make him into a deity. Same thing with religions and the Bible stories; all human constructs. Throughout history, humans are known for doing this. Smh

When actors pass you think of the great roles they played, musicians, the music they wrote and you remember them for that. But Betty, wow..she was human light and music. For her loss you definitely shed tears.
Her family says she went to bed and went to sleep and that was all. Her family had been with her and she simply just went to sleep forever. All I can say is if I get to live even a portion of what's left of my life with passion and humor and humility and kindness that she did and make it to 99 years old continuing to do those things and to pass peacefully in my sleep I can't think of a better life.

She lived a good life and made it a little better for all of us, animals and all. It was quite a shock for me. But she went out in style and always be remembered this way
She’s finally home with Allen! They are rejoicing together, but it still is devastating here on earth. It was so weird this morning I woke up with her on my brain. I was in a Betty White RU-vid rabbit hole. After about 2 hours of watching her life, and ordering tickets to her movie on her birthday… an alert popped up on my phone that she passed. I will miss her so much. A woman I’ve never met, but today I feel like I lost a family member.
It's been 40 years since she lost Allen so I certainly hope they're having a glass of champagne as I type. That's a long time to wait. I guess we all felt like she'd never leave us and she will be sorely missed.
Just days before she would become a centenarian. Truly tragic but Betty had a wonderfully meaningful and joyous life and was loved by millions of people worldwide. She will be missed. Rest in peace forever.

As an aging person, thrust me when I say this. When you're that close to your 100th birthday, you're a hundred years old, not 99. And Betty gave us 100 years of wonderful. Thank you, Betty, and rest in peace.

I'm so sorry that she passed away but knowing her husband will be waiting for her makes her life so much richer and happy since she loved him so dearly. What is so strange for me is I really expected her to live forever. She was a huge bright shining star. She lit up a room when she came into it. She will be greatly missed.

A warm tribute Graeme. Betty was in her early 60's when I was born. I'm both happy and saddened by the news. One of my favorite moments was her AFI musical number to Morgan Freeman. The things her "Sue Ann" character.would say on the MTM show was uniquely funny. I never met Betty, but my memories will always keep her (positive outlook of life), alive in my smiling heart.
I will miss my Betty White because she kept me young just watching her wit and humor. You could always count on a smile or just an out and out burst of laughter at her humor. I'll miss here dearly.

And when she left me, on December 31., One day after my birthday, I thought….this last day completes this year, and also her life. Her life was completed. So was Betty White’s. She for me, the eternal face of American Comedy, sharp but lovable, sassy, sophisticated, good and clean humour and yes entertaining with class, truly a league of her, nobody comes even close to her brand of comedy. She was said to have died in her sleep which is the best anyone could hope for, especially at age 99 and still with a sound mind, apparently. How many other centenarians could star in a TV special as she was planning to do in a few weeks? She was a legend!
