First of all, this model is absolutely stunning!! Second, I am really enjoying the light layers of makeup used to just enhance features and accentuate the enviable beauty of this woman. Third, that eye look is perfection and I am now going to check my stash to see how I can recreate it! I have deep brown eyes that sometimes look like dark bourbon or velvety chocolate (depending on the tones I use). I now find myself gravitating for the plum and berry tones again but have such a hard time not looking like I have an eye infection. A soft brown liner is what I was missing! Thank you Lisa for sharing the look and Dani's artistry.
@@keymon17 Oooh! Thanks for the advice. I think I have a MAC single shadow that would do the trick. I have a lot of cool toned makeup because everything I put on pulls red and orange so I looked horrid. I ended up looking like a hungover Bozo the clown or a bruised tomato. Understanding color theory and knowing how my medications affect my reactions to colors and scents has really helped.
If you find burgundy looks easily like an infection as an eyeshadow, I'd recommend getting a burgundy/wine coloured eyeliner. My personal fave is rimmel scandal eyes in deep wine, such a pretty colour and stays on gorgeously without having to set it with eyeshadow
This is a nice, practical look at her process. It feels very common sense and approachable. I like that she (and I see other makeup artists do this) begins with a massage. I have a problem with tensing my jaw muscles throughout the day and this reminded me to give my jaw a little TLC, which helps it relax. And Japanese facial razors are always in my cabinet!
That moment when you remember that contouring can be gentle and delicate and your mind re-explodes. Gentle and delicate everything 💜 but the contouring is where I felt it IN MY BONES. Lovely video, lovely ladies, all three of you. 😍😍
I absolutely love how Lisa and Dani are like artists working on a canvas. They go so light and not caking on the layers. It’s so nice to see these techniques
Stunning before. Stunning after. Beautiful makeup artist. Beautiful model. Loved all her practical tips. Just gorgeous. Everything. Thank you, Lisa. Love from sunny Sydney, Australia.
I never knew about Kimiko as make up artist. Thank you Lisa, for introducing her and she did such a marvellous job explaining as she did - love the look.
Thought of this when she was scribbling the eyebrow pencil on the paper for a sharper edge - it would be super helpful to see how makeup artists sharpen their pencils! I always end up with a duller edge and some jagged pieces around the base. 🤷♀️
I love how much care and attention to detail there is. It's the difference between slapping a few broad paint strokes on to cover a canvas, and gradually adding detail and building up dimension using every art tool you have. This is true artistry applied to the human face, and such a pleasure to watch. Every canvas is different and you have to cater to each person individually.
This was beautiful. I loved how it wasnt a ton of products thrown on her face but rather a very delicate touch. The end result was stunning. Thank you for sharing with us :)
I absolutely love this! Thank you so much! I’m old, though not as old as many. I’ve been learning and using makeup since I was 12 years old. I’ve had some amazing trainers and have picked up a lot of great practices along the way. Most are so second nature to me now that I don’t have to think about doing them; they just happen. When I watch MUA’s, like you and your fabulous guest, I see you doing things as I was taught and realize that there are best practices that last through time. I’m so glad to be reminded of what great instruction I’ve had and that my techniques aren’t just old-fashioned nonsense but practical MUA practices. I’m not an MUA. I used to be in fashion, theater, and film and mostly did my own makeup. I was trained how to do the makeup, though, by some great MUAs. Whenever I could, I would watch what they did on others and learn from them. It’s fun to do that now on YT. Again, thank you.
I just love when a makeup artist starts with skin treatments and massage. It's a nice reminder that a great makeup look really starts before the primers even go on.
So true - I was going to leave a similar comment. The days when I have time to do some lymphatic drainage massage in the shower and really let the moisturizer soak in after the shower before applying makeup are days when my makeup looks at least 5 times better than usual.
I love love loveeee the way she applies makeup! She does it with such a light hand but the end result looks flawless. I also want to go shopping now ha!
Thank you for the video Lisa! I look forward to seeing more and more of the Asian/Wasian community in your videos, it's so lovely to see different eye shapes and colours!
Gorgeous!! Learned a lot of tips and color suggestions in this video. This would be a great every day look softened out a bit, but definitely a statement look for the eye makeup. Really beautiful! Thank you!
This is such a treat! I loved watching Kimiko applying the makeup so delicately and explaining her approach. The result is flawless. Thank you so much for sharing. Side comment: you all three are gorgeous women! ✨❤️
Wow, I feel like I learned so much here! This makeup artist has such good taste, and I love that she uses multiple colors of foundation and brow pencil. It just shows her attention to detail, letting the person’s natural face be her guide.
I love watching her artistic approach, as an artist I always think of makeup like paints, so it's wonderful seeing a professional doing it, makes me feel so validated!
As I age (I'm not in my 20's anymore), I find it so difficult to do my liner on my Asian eyes. Her tips for liner on an eye shape similar to mine are so helpful! Thank you for bringing in different artists and having diversity in your channel.
Wow I loved this make up ,the colours, the facial treatments before were so relaxing to watch beautiful outcome wish I could be a model for just one day 😍
What I respect so much about makeup artists is that they know the right colors and tones to compliment a face. The eye colors were so soft and beautiful but then the lip color really pulled everything together and looked perfect on the model.
I love the guest artists. As a MUA myself I just love watching how other people work a face differently, but it always comes out so beautiful. It’s also inspiring to branch out of my own mastered techniques.
Aside from this being such a professional presentation - the explanations, her technique, everything - i was blown away by how amazing this lipstick color tied everything together. It suits the model and the look so well. Beautiful! Thank you for this treat of a video again.
Thank you for having an East Asian model on your channel and we love to see more Lisa! When I politely put in this request on another makeup artist's channel (I won't say who), he said my request is ridiculous and asked me how can he fly to Asian to bring models back. I was very angry and never watched his videos again.
This video was so insightful and calming. Loved the final look and just how delicate everything was. Also, Dani's eyes are beautiful. And so is the model!
Dani 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏stunning. also the contouring with such light application ( i’ve never bothered to contour because i feel it looks like mud ) but i’ll try this one
oh lisa though ive watched this once before i have to say this is the best oriental eye make up tutorial…(i wish i can)! and whole look! stunning. i am not oriental but have deep set eyes and always difficult( i don’t ) for me to get this eye look but i’ll try.
