Eurovision is standard, it's never really broken any new ground musically nor is it supposed to. Definitely the best song that year, it should've gone to the final and preferably won but as all we know the best songs only rarely win. That decade really had the worst crap ever in the ESC history, 2006 no exception, it's therefore odd this typical Eurovision song didn't make it further.
I heared there are plenty of Swedish people in Estonia, I think it does have something to do with it. Btw: Not only the song sounds like ABBA but the singer is swedish and blonde, just like ABBA had a blonde in their group.
I was 15 back then, this was my first proper ESC, and I loved this song, it was my fave actually. I was shocked when she did not make it to the Final, but I guess coming after Sweden hurt her chances (similar songs).
That Carola song had a very poor chorus, frankly I was surprised she took part again with such a weak song it was utter garbage compared to this gem, I think.
Omg she is so iconic. I still don't understand how she wasn't qualified. Her outfit is very cool. The song is very beautiful and never off key I think she should have won. Also, I loved the harmony of white and blue in this outfit.
@@escludy9019 unfortunately it's true. I liked the Estonian song more than the Swedish song. I think Estonia should definitely be in the top 10 that year🔥🔥, isn't that unfair?? Her chance wasn't good for running order that's really true
It was originally supposed to be performed by Ines(who represented Estonia in 2000), and in 2002 Runaway was also supposed to be performed by Ines. Both times she decided in the end not to perform the songs and some Swedish girls somehow were found as replacements. The funny thing is, in 2006 actually after pulling out initially, Ines decided to enter last minute the national competition with a song of her own, "Iseendale", which came second place. In my opinion, it would have been better and less generic than "Through My Window".
@Rasmussen the great three of the five background singers were Swedes (on the left and behind Sandra, Sandra`s boyfriend and her best friends) and the other two were Estonians (on the right, who remained very much in the shadows until the end). the progress of the song was nullified by the song of the Swedes Carola performed immediately before it. their outfits were also similar...
@@muhamedyagmur7353 To me, her performance and face expressions seemed aggressive. She is a good singer and she’s beautiful, but her performance would have been better without those awkward face expressions and the legs so wide open. It just didn’t look good
@@vladimirprostran1896 Really? I think I'm one of the few people who like the way her looks. I found her and her outfit very cool because blue and white are my favorite colors. In fact, she should have qualified anyway. With a small change, she could have entered the top 8 in the semi-finals.
