Sandy Becker was so far ahead of his time. He would've been a great late night TV talk show host with his insane sense of humor and voice impressions he did. I'm lucky to have watched him when I was a kid on WNEW-TV 5 in New York on "The Sandy Becker Show," "Sandy's Hour," "Sandy's Hour (and a Half)," and Sandy's Street."
Sandy Becker was my favorite show to watch as a child. He also was my very was my very first crush. His show was the best. He gave so much joyto my childhood may he rest in peace.
"Best chocolate syrup in the world, and you can't say that if it isn't true." Oh, yes, you can. You just did without offering proof or defining "best". Fortified with vitamin D? Was that the Bosco or the milk without the Bosco? Sandy Becker was my favorite kid show host by far. It's amazing the number of hours he logged on the air in one week. #2 was Fred Hall (Jungle Boy). Still, these commercials were over the top. When hosts really promoted their sponsors. Think Arthur Godfrey too, selling soup or tea to his adult audience by endorsing it and drinking it on the air. Fortunately, neither Sandy nor Arthur ever had to endorse Vita-Meata-Vegamin!
"Best" as a descriptor is permitted in advertising; it's unprovable and just puffery. If the claim is to be "better" than another, then you need to be able to back that up.
Geeba Geeba was my favorite! I went to school with a very funny kid who mumbled, they called him Geeba and until I graduated from high school in 1975,I thought that was his real name!😅😅😅❤❤❤
As much as I loved watching Sandy Becker I would bypass this show because already at an early grammar school age I ws able to distinguish the severe quality disparity between the original Hal Roach Our Gang (Little Rascals) and these MGM abortions that took over the name but not the essence of truly entertaining kids comedies. It would be good if this clip could be dated.
It's too bad that there are not more clips of skits and characters from Sandy's weekday morning, evening, and afternoon NYC based kids tv shows..KDEGRU.
We never had Bosco. My mother bought Hersheys chocolate syrup. In fact, it seemed as if my mother avoided buying anything advertised on television. But, that was just my child's perception. FYI that was the 50s. Things seemed to start to change very fast as the 60s approached.
Loved this stuff. Used to see it advertised when we lived in Long Island. Better then Hershey's. Ive been trying to find you on here to ask about your Hammond S6. Do you still play?. I have 2 and wanted to ask you a couple of questions about it. If you have an email that would be much appreciated. If not, let me know where I can write you about the s6/s100, not many people know much about them or care. Thank you.
Back then in the 1960s Bosco was great but now years later it's disgusting. IMHO. It used to taste like chocolate but now it tastes alcoholic and not something you'd wanna give your kids lol
