just finished rereading oots and dovewing is such a dear character to me. she was subject to so much at a young age and the way dovewings silence explore her depression and PTSD following the great battle means a lot to me. the fandom only seems to focus on her relationships with ivypool and tigerheart and ignores a lot of what makes her such an interesting character which is why i wanted to make this pmv.
also sidenote i haven’t done any pmvs/animations in over 2 years but i’m back now. hi. this is the longest project i’ve ever done, it took about 3 weeks.

0:08-0:25: dovepaw, very newly apprenticed, finds out about the prophecy. she’s initially excited about her powers and the special treatment by her mentor, lionblaze
0:25-0:34: the journey to dam. what starts off as a fun adventure with her new friends turns dark as they find the beavers
0:35-0:43: dovepaw watches as rippletail as he slowly bleeds to death from his wounds from the beavers.
0:44-0:51: the journey back to thunderclan. dovepaw is initially in shock, but starts to grow more upset and resentful. she’s returns to thunderclan, and her mother, whitewing, tries to comfort her even though she doesn’t understand what’s happened to her daughter.
0:52-1:00: dovepaw is training with lionblaze, still stressed and nervous from the journey. during battle training, she has a flashback to rippletail’s death.
1:01-1:04: dovewing journeys to the mountains and watches as swoop is carried away and killed by an eagle. she feels responsible for her death.
1:05-1:09: dovewing returns from the mountains, but is still haunted by swoops death. the prophecy feels oppressive, like she can’t live up to these expectations.
1:10-1:17: hollyleaf returns, and the normally stoic and uncaring lionblaze and jayfeather reunite with their sister. dovewing suddenly realizes they never actually cared about her, just the prophecy.
1:18-1:34: dovewings relationship to her sister, ivypool, has completed dissolved. she can only watch as ivypool continues to train in the dark forest, unable to do anything to stop her.
1:35-1:38: life continues on in thunderclan, but dovewing has no attachment to any of it. she’s isolated and depressed, unable to participate in clan life.
1:38-1:42: dovewing is still haunted by the deaths of rippletail and swoop, unable to move on.
1:43-1:51 the battle with the dark forest has come, and afterwards, dovewing loses her powers.
1:52-2:04: dovewing feels she’s let everyone down- starclan, lionblaze, hollyleaf, her entire clan. she remembers being an idealistic kit when she first learned about the prophecy, and how it’s now ruined her life.
2:05-2:10: disconnected from her clan and her family, dovewing decides to leave to join shadowclan. there’s nothing left in thunderclan for her now, because of the prophecy
