A rare recording of "Mukhari Pallavi" by the late Smt. Sanjukta Panigrahi in the Odissi style of Indian Classical Dance from eastern India.
Pallavi, or "to sprout or blossom" in Sanskrit, is an intricate pure dance piece in the traditional Odissi repetoire. Both the raga (melody) and steps are systematically developed together by note, structure, and mood to highlight the interplay between dance and music.
This item is set to Raga Mukhari and Tala Tripata and was choreographed by the late Sri Kelucharan Mohapatra.
