This is my current favorite EDC knife the Sanrenmu Model 710. At less then 15 bucks shipped ($8 for the knife $3-6 for shipping) this is a no hassles, no worries blade! Made in the same factory as the Spyderco Tenacious; I think the built quality of these knives are on par with a more expensive knife (maybe in the $25-30 range).
The Sanrenmu 710
Blade Steel: 8cr13mov HRC 57
Blade Lenght: 2.75 inches Hollow Ground
Weight: 3.25oz
Frame Lock
The Sanrenmu 763
Blade Steel: 8cr13mov
Blade Lenght: 2.68 inches Hollow Ground
Weight: 2.05oz
Axis Lock
Value: Off the charts on both!!!

Hey Doc. I just ordered a Sanrenmu 710 stainless steel with the inserts (looks like sand paper, not sure what it is) but it only cost $9.79 SHIPPED from China. Got it off ebay. I have Spyderco's and Kershaw's with the 8Cr13MoV steel and love them. It's a great steel and sharpens very well. Can't wait to get it. Would LOVE to have a CR Sebenza but they're way out of my price range. Not buying it to pass off as a Sevenza. Just think it's a very good knife for the money.

Anything positive anyone has said about this knife is absolutely true. Thanks for your review on this great knife and all other reviews on youtube that brought my attention to the sanrenmu brand!

good comment "i just dont abuse my knives ..." i share the same thought. they are tools and i have the 710 and for what they are tools for they are excelent value. these knives are great edc tools for cutting slashing and in a deadly encounter even thrusting. and ive practiced with a slab of meat hanging from a hook and it will DO THE JOB! if a knife has to be used for prying, screwdriving, battoning, digging, chipping ice, etc well...it will fail!

I carry the regular bare metal stainless version of the 710 and it's one of the best EDCs ever for less than $20 IMHO. The Chinese truly have come a long way with quality and design. The 8CR13MoV is very decent for the money. The profiles of the blades on the 710 and 763 allow for almost razor sharpness. They've stopped making both the 710 and 763, so if you find one still cheap, buy it immediately. I'm keeping back 5 of the regular 710s because the price keeps going up on these things.

Good review, thank you. I seem to have started collecting Chinese knives. You can get a good selection of styles, lock types, blade shapes and finishes. The quality is very good and they can be really strong, try the Enlan/Bee EL-01 range - lots of different finishes and Boker Magnum re-badge them and sell them as their own.

Neat little knives.

The last one looks like it has a can opener when the blade is closed. Is that intentional?

@GunsKnivesSurvival Emerson-style "wave" feature, when you're carrying in the direction demanded by the pocket clip, that cut-out catches your pocket on the draw. Opens the blade.

Hey man, great vid. Was just wondering, are these spring assist? I live in the uk and don't think spring assists are legal over here.

Hey man, im thinking of getting the camo one. Two questions : how has the coating on the blade and handle held up? And is it still working fine now after you have been using it for a long time?

Can you tell me if the image on the side of this knife is etched into the surface. Or just printed on?

Nice table top review! Did you say you have a magnifying lens in front of your camera? Real interesting, id like to see that set up! I have a mixed feeling about China knives, though Sanrenmu seems to have a higher build quality than most. I wonder how they can pump these guys out at that price when "real deal" knives are hundreds of dollars more. Make me wonder lol I try to only buy from non Chinese when I can, not that Im racist, just that I want to help our guys. Thanks! Nice review!

@GunsKnivesSurvival yes that is part of the design. But the opener on a swiss army knife works better. Still, it is useful!

got the camo 710 - love it so far (deployment is stil slow) . little on the heavy side for the size, but sturdy enough and i think when prices go down i'll get the big brother, the 910 with sandvik steel too. if this one is the poor man's sebenza i don't see the point of owning one. sorry. never got my hands on a real one tho...

whoa, i just realised, if you got another 710, the stainless steel one, and swapped the blade with the 710 at 02:45 it would be so much nicer.

Check out the hard use knife testing project by Vininull. Some of the "china knives" outperform even the most well known western models during torture testing. (namely Ganzo 704 outperforming a ZT 350 and an Emerson.)

I find the Chinese knives give good value for the money spent .while some home grown manufacturers are loosing sight of the purpose of a knife - thinking they are producing a piece of art and charging artsy fartsy prices , these knives are meant for cutting stuff with no other pretense . I bet the company CEO's are not making multi hundred thousand dollar salaries either . It all depends on what your looking for . a knife to look at and ogle or one to use every day .

While in general I understand the steel they use has not been hardened to a degree that a Buck or a Benchmade has , Alll major knife manufacturers use 8 cr 13 and I find my daily office knife 1203-2 Enlan has stood up better than my Delica with VG10 . And I have several of both types . I paid a lot more for the Delica .We might be letting Chinese animosity get the better of us these days ., and I'm no fan of their human rights abuses either .

@tskaggs777 Maybe cause they use Chinese people's hands to fit them. We asians are quite small.
