They still show this movie every year in Mexico. Some how it is our "a christmas story" movie. Yep, not the best christmas movie, but they'll loop it. If you like this kind of movies I recomend "Pulgarcito y Caperucita contra los moustros" (Tom Thumb and Little Red Riding Hood), you'll find some of the same actors on it (including Santa Claus).
Not forgotten by EVERYONE up 'til the 1993 MST3k release; This title was discussed in my badfilm Bible, "Incredibly Strange Films." I bought that book the month it was released, in the year 1986. This title also made it onto their special "Recomended" List of All-time Psychotronic Howlers [along with "Manos, The Hands of Fate," "Devil Doll," "Astro-Zombies," and "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who..."] which I made it my life's ambition to exhaustively view and collect. Much as I like MST, they certainly didn't *invent* the connoisseurship of Bad Cinema.
This film looks sooo creepy. The whole production style, the colours, just everything about it is demented and unpleasant... Santa Claus Conquers The Martians was also creepy for the same reason...
Some friends and I once did our own riffing for Santa Claus(and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians). They still haven't forgiven me for the riff I came up with when one boy asks Santa for a sibling: "Ho ho ho! Don't worry, son, I'll just pop one out of my womb for you!"
I am always so impressed by your research. You have very interesting information about every movie you talk about. I haven't even heard of this one but it sure looks fun.
*Sees Merlin* I think this movie 100% helps me confirm that every tv show, movie, book, play, and game is connected somehow. Also, how did people look so put together, and glamorous in the 50s? I mean what the hell.
oh wow Cecil this was probably the funniest review I've ever seen here on your channel. I was laughing so hard so many times lol :) Thank you so much and I hope you had happy holidays :)
This movie looks creepy, trippy and fucked-up, and for a GoodBadFlicks Christmas special, I wouldn't want it any other way. Merry Christmas to you and your family Cecil!
You once said that you didn't want to be some guy screaming into a webcam. That's one of the many things I like about this channel. I see too many "review" channels were they just talk to the camera and try to be funny. Keep up the great work!
Last Christmas around 1am this movie was on . My mom told me you haft to check this Christmas movie on some channel I never seen before .we watched it in amazement after I couldn't even explain the plot all I said was you need to check it out .
I´m really surprised that this classic christmas movie is a cult one in the USA (and full of COLOR). The first time I saw it I was 9 or 10, and I watched at channel 9 in Mexico City (obviously in black and white).
One of the trailers said "It's like living a storybook adventure!" It's more like wading through a swamp in a gothic horror comic written by an insane stoner.
LMFAO, this is the third consecutive good bad flicks video I've watched with a Dramamine reference. Did you just happen to make a string of videos while you were taking Dramamine, or did I just happen to pick the three videos on your channel with Dramamine references by complete coincidence?
I remember growing up watching this in Mexico "Tin Tan" Santa Claus. did a lot but I don't remember him as a villain in many. try the red ridding hood trilogy same flow of narrative and special effects..these movies were made for kids and are very cheesy but entertaining .
What was that line "Make me a (what)" Isn't that from one of those very early black and white fantasy, epic movies with a prophecy about a young woman and the man she falls in love with (Prince or warrior) and an evil witch hold her hostage? It really is a movie but I can't remember the entire plot or the name of it. It was not in color and I may be wrong, but I seem to remember it was Nordic somehow. Do you know what the name of it was/is?
I, too, am satisfied that the film is getting a Blu-ray release. On Blu-ray.com, where I found out about the film's release, I left the comment "Hell Yeah!!!!! Bring it on!!!!!"
GoodBadFlicks The Santa Clause is a undeniable great Christmas movie and a great movie. It's utterly laughable that you believe your belief that Persons won't be in a festive mood after Watching The Santa Clause which is nonsensical and asinine. I don't know why you hate a grest movie with great messages, and your blind hatred for the movie you continue to say garbage about the movie which is sad and entertaining.
