The Santa Cruz Trek is one of the iconic treks of the Huascaran region of Peru.
It can be done in many ways, the main part can be done in two days, it can also be extended to double the time and you can walk the Huascaran valley instead of taking public transport. It can also be walked much longer and slower as an acclimatization trek before other high mountain expeditions. Or even more at ease with the assistance of a guide and a donkey. I opted for the longest option with a bit of hitchhiking in the middle.
