Dennis Jenko left the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad in 1988, after 20 years as a locomotive engineer. His post-railroad plan was to find a place in commercial photography, and one of the possibilities was producing train videos. In 1990 Dennis purchased a professional camcorder and began to capture all his favorite railroads. Living in the Chicagoland area he could film Santa Fe, BN, CCP, “his” CNW, WC, Soo and others. Dennis has always been a huge fan of noted RR film photographer Emery Gulash (his first VHS tape was Santa Fe Odyssey Vol-1) so to follow in Emery’s footsteps is exciting and humbling. We hope you will enjoy this Classic Santa Fe footage from the early 1990’s.
In this second of three New volumes of the popular Santa Fe Odyssey series, join Dennis as he follows the line relocation and construction of the new Willow Springs yard. Watch as step by step, the familiar scene with Bozec Fuel and Material is replaced by a new overpass, and interlocking. Enjoy main line action at some Emery Gulash locations and some Dennis spots too, like Verona, Coal City, Streator, Edelstein, Chillicothe, Clovis, Fort Sumner, Vaughn and many more.
Don’t miss this Super action packed Volume-5 of Santa Fe Odyssey, Tons of Classic Santa Fe train action from the early 1990’s, from the collection of Dennis Jenko!

Awesome video, definitely going to have to add this DVD to my collection! Who would have guessed those hi-flying GP60Ms an Dash 8-40BWs would be running out the rest of their lives in local service and most trading their warbonnet paint scheme for BNSF H3 colors 25 years later!

The Warbonnet GE 8-40 B's roared by my house with timed freights to and from Chicago. They were doing 80 mph.

The Warbonnet B40-8W are my all time favorite. Some of the EMD's were smoking more than the GE's

In 1996, Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway and Burlington Northern Railroad became “Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway”

I remember that year well, wasn't easy saying goodbye to either Burlington Northern or Santa Fe as independent entities, but the alternative could have been much worse, they could have joined the ranks of SP and C&NW being absorbed into Union Pacific.
