Join us on the first public run of the Santa Maria Valley No. 205 in over 60 years. Built by Baldwin in 1924 and lovingly restored by George Lavacot and his friends in a process that took 40 years, this steam locomotive is once again alive and thundering down the rails! The engine now lives with the Albany & Eastern railway in Lebanon, Oregon which operates excursions under the name of Santiam Excursion Trains. It will be exciting to see this engine able to run more as they continue to run excursions!

Saw this engine in TRAVELTOWN????I believe. Nicely proportioned low wheeled engine. The McCloud River Railroad ran similarly sized low wheeled engines....a bit larger but not by much. HANDSOME ENGINE!!!!

Is this the same locomotive that used to be in the playground at the Santa Maria fairgrounds? If so, I remember playing on it as a kid ca 1960. It was lots of fun, though not nearly so shiny back then. Awesome job on the restoration!

Yep, it's the same one. Got pulled out of the park by a group of friends in the 80s and restored over a period of 38 years. We are all very appreciative of it.
