Outstanding video featuring the beautiful and legendary Falcon tri-jet. How aviation videos should be done! A coast-to-coast flight time of 4:28 is creeping toward Concorde performance! Well done.
It was Marcel Dassault (Marcel Bloch), his father, who started the Falcon’s (originally Mystère’s) series. At first, it was made as a liaison aircraft for the French military (Navy mostly). But Dassault saw an opportunity in the private/business jet field… and then it is history. The name “Mystère” was considered not “appropriate” for a commercial aircraft since it was the name of military airplanes prior to the Mirage, so they change it to Falcon (more appealing, especially for non French speakers), which became the name for the private jets company, a subsidiary/branch/division of Dassault Aviation. Serge Dassault, who was also an engineer, was at first in charge of the electronic/computer division, until Marcel Dassault died. He then was in charge as the CEO of the Dassault Group and continued his father’s legacy proudly and with humility. Both were great men and great engineers.
What a nice controlled environment with sweetness all around. Reminds me of a Boeing commercial. Now welcome to the real world, after signing up for that giant PMI payment and convincing your boss the maintenance won't be so bad. You know, cranky controllers, shitty weather, bad FBOs, and pissed off passengers and it won't matter if you had a 20 year old plane with half the performance.
I really don't know a whole lot about planes, but isn't the Citation 10X plus the fastest private jet in the world? Couldn't it beat this time? Thanks.
@@reubensmith7021 people do Vny to teb all the time, SMO to TEB would be an extremely popular pairing if the runway was longer. I took a phenom into SMO and it was sketchy, taking an 8x in there would be insane
The newer G5 and G6 series is better in every way in the real world. You never really own a Falcon, you just rent it from the French, notoriously horrible customer experiences abound
