Mrs M and I decided to have a final ride of 2023 behind a steam locomotive, and decided to travel up to the Dean Forest Railway in Gloucestershire to do so.
We had a wonderful day, travelling from Norchard up to Parkend, where after a short break we travelled down to Lydney Junction, before returning to Norchard.
The Staff and volunteers looked after us very well, making the visit a really enjoyable one.

Bob, this is one of your incredible videos for sound and great clips, I have been following you here in Canada for a lot of years and became a email friend over the years. From my last email to you! you are slowing down and having mobile problems and yes I as well at age 83 but like you I just keep on doing things I can and yours is VIDEOS. I live 15 miles from this place , the guys working there put on a great display for such a small railway .Credit where its due . Great vid .

I'm very limited with mobility issues now Bob, so have to accept that I can only access to where everyone else can go, so thanks for your kind comments.

Very nice work, Robert! Can I ask, was this filed with the Panasonic X920 you used before? I'm thinking of buying one, and trying to gauge it's video quality, as they aren't cheap even in 2024. Best wishes!

It was captured using my X920, although HD, the quality and features of this camera are second to none, and if you can get hold of one, I would thoroughly recommend it. It had so many features, that future Panasonic camcorders, didn't have them. Regards...Bob

@@robmasterman Thanks Bob! I currently own a Sony AX53, and while the image stabilisation and 4K are great, I find the image noise a bit too high, and data rates too much for my needs. It's a choice between an X920, and a Canon XC10. Thanks again for your advice! :)
