@@christopherkyle5639 The band is tight. The musicians are on a high technical level. I think one just have to like good well played music with a legendary guitarist and spiritual icon in front to find this "any good". That Santana isn't in the best of form is evident but his playing is still superb.
@@visualnxghtmare6838 that’s always THE DUMBEST REPLY , listen up genius ……. The Backstreet Boys sold millions of records and they suck too . Sales don’t always mean talent and you don’t have to be a musician to realize that some music sounds shitty. Nothing like arguing with a moron lmao !
You might want to include Hendrix in that category, saw Santana last night first time for me, even though I was at Woodstock which ended up being a dud for me. Has not lost a step on the guitar, his band was awesome. Doing this for over half a century, as good as ever.
@@christopherkyle5639 I feel sorry for U. However just come from my perspective,, every body has the right to say anything. I also love Rock n Roll from other Top Notch Band. thanks & Cheers

SANTANA IS ALMOST ALWAYS SITTING NOW, HAS HE HAS HEALTH PROBLEMS OR THE OLD ONE IS BEGINNING TO FEEL UNFORTUNATELY. BUT WITH THE GUITAR IN HIS ARMS HE IS ALWAYS IN SHAPE
Steve Easton, would you please share what you use for equipment? Do you use a tripod? Where are you sitting to get such a clear view of the stage? Your videos are all amazing.
I don't mind leaning against the seat. Note his age. Maybe his back hurts. Who knows. Besides, in gipsy swing or flamenco it's quite normal for guitarists to sit. Just think of legends like Django Reinhardt or Paco de Lucia. Many guitarists also sit in jazz and classical music.
Ive seen Santana 65 times the first time just after Woodstock at the Port Chester Theater in Westchester New York. I LOVE Santana he has been the soundtrack to my life. He is GREAT up in the highest echelons of guitarists and musicians !! Ok having said that I wasnt at this concert - I passed when he opened his current tour in Miami but from watching this concert I am VERY disappointed to see the indifference, gum chewing, sitting down, phoning in it Santana. The last 4-5-6 albums have been WEAK. It troubles me to see this. You want Santana go and listen to the Swing of Delight, Shape Shifter, Moonflower, Love Devotion and Surrender, Borboletta, Caravanserai, Blues for Salvador, Santana 1,2,3 and 4, Golden Dreams Silver Dreams Golden Reality, Lotus, Sacred Fire …..go on LISTEN TO THOSE …..then we’ll talk !!!
When I saw Santana, he explained that he was sitting down due to sciatica. I can't explain the gum chewing, but he is his own person and has a right to do what he wants. I may be young, but the Santana I saw live gave as much heart, soul, and passion as the one I grew up listening to. This was a truly amazing experience for me. I'm sad to hear it wasn't for you.
At minute 15.10 of the video, the poor keyboard player has to let boss Carlos throw a towel at him in order to use the correct keyboard. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..😂😁🤓
Woodstock icons are getting fewer, CS still has his talent & soul. He'd be great for a US Football half-time show - he'd really amp the crowds up (just don't talk about politics or spirituality).
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CINDY,THE BAND IS GETTING BORED OF DOING THE SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER AGAIN; they sound more like a cover band especially on those songs from 1999 SUPERNATURAL
Having seen Santana in excess of 15 times…. If he could stand up the whole he would, and has for the past 50 years, but can’t anymore. He can’t play like he used to either, but what can you do? But if he still loves to play…and people still want go….. I would personally rather remember how he used to play live… but can’t knock if all are happy dude
Obviously age has an impact on everyone. Seen him at jones beach 2 weeks ago. The band and songs were great but obviously Carlos needs to be sitting on a beach relaxing. Yes, he has a signature sound but his abilities to play in the expected level we expect are just plainly gone! Sorry to say but His band definitely outperformed him to the point that he didn’t count. Really you would ask, yes REALLY! Chewing gum while playing guitar is not allowing total concentration on delivering an outstanding performance, ask any guitarist! And, he seemed to be more concerned with sitting down than giving an outstanding performance. He just isn’t totally immersed in his work like he once was. Oh, and go late to the show, the counting crows were terrible. It was extremely difficult to sit through this garage band performance from a supposedly renown rock band! Total disappointment and am glad I had a chance to witness him at his best! Done!
Who the fk is this band????? Not Santana! Carlos playing blues???? Keyboardist fkup the song!!!!! Carlos over playing all the time. All songs sound so altered from the original your not sure whats being played anymore. After 45min i had to stop watching. This has become a cover band. The real Sanatana vibe is totally gone, totally dead. Its like a bunch of new new members, all of them in a studio diking around. U dont pay 80, 90, 100 to see or hear this! Time to go home Carlos.
FYI, long ago, when he was just getting his band out there in the Bay Area, it was called "The Santana Blues Band", (as were Steve Miller, Fleetwood Mac, etc.). That's because most of the great guitarists of that era were so inspired by America's legendary Blues musicians, so they wanted to play the Blues. As for his songs not being replicas of the version recorded over 50 years, that's because they are "creative artists", so what musician wants to play every song exactly the same way, decade after decade? It's not like you can't tell what song they are playing. And since Carlos has often said he was inspired by John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green, Bob Marley, & Miles Davis (who his longtime, 30+ years, bass player worked with just before joining Santana), why would anyone think he'd be content playing all his music the same way, forever? None of those other greats would ever have done that...
@@StevenCharlesJazz Why would one need to justify what one does not find appealing! The show sucked the songs lost all their original emotions from so much altering and thats my opinion and observation!
