SANTANA Oye Como Va REACTION 

A funny history lesson about this song! (love your channel and both of you too, btw). Tito Puente, very famous and talented Latin percussionist wrote and performed this song first. It's one of his trademarks. Carlos Santana idolized him and his music and asked if he could play the song and put on an album, Tito said yes. The song got BIG BIG BIG. People would come to Tito and say, "Hey, you are playing Santana music!". Tito would say, "No, I play Tito Puente music!" in response. A few months later, in his agents office Tito is handed a check, a very big check with zeros in it. He was told it was royalties from the Santana version! Tito laughingly says that from then on, he played SANTANA MUSIC!!! Tito would tell this story when he'd perform and right before playing Oye Como Va. Give Tito and Latin Jazz a listen sometime. There is a great warm vibe to it. Cheers and you guys are awesome.

Oye Como Va means "Hey, how's it going?". "Me ritmo bueno pa gozar" means "My rhythm is going well". On this song, Michael Shrieve play drums, Michael Carabello play congas and Jose "Chepito" Areas play timbales and congas.

I found this laying around the house when I was 10-12. Put it on the record player (remember those?) and never forgot the sounds of the great Carlos Santana! People seem to increasingly vent their frustrations on the internet, on social media, in comments sections. The vast majority of the things they say aren't true, they're just trying to be mean for some reason. Maybe making someone sad make them feel better, which is pretty tragic. Saw Carlos Santana with Ted Nugent on the same bill at the County Fair here 20 years ago... Amazing! This is my favorite song by them and it's been a staple on Classic Rock Radio for decades, never get tired of hearing it! Great reaction Enoma, Thank You!
