What a great concert! I had never seen it before. Carlos was in great form that day. It was nice to see Michael and Chepito also. Thanks for posting. Truly in the spirit of the great Johnny Cash!

I started CDC as an officer in '86. Man, I would've loved to attended that concert. One of Santanas best line up. PLUS Chester Thompson! Another idol from Tower of Power. Chepito! Those are PRIMAL beats! I came in for one song. Stayed the whole concert.

this is kinda special. heard of this show (playing free for prisoners); didn't know there was audio, let alone video. never heard that story bout samba pa ti at 33:20 before. i thought it was supposed to be a tune he wrote for his wife.

Hmmm, I don’t think the year 1988 is correct as Graham Lear was playing drums and Michael was doing other projects. It looks like mid 70’s more like also David Margen would be playing bass.

If you look at the bass drum it says Premier. MICHAEL had a premier deal for a while.

Carlos Santana ! Have had the privilege to see him in concert many times. First time watching this video. What a humble spiritual amazing musician to volunteer his time and encouragement. Love him ❤ ! Surely a legend !
