One of the best videos on hotels in Oia out there, and it was so pivotal in guiding us to choose the very best value hotels in Oia! For first timers in Santorini, after actually getting there, my wife and I wouldn’t have chosen any other hotel. And we saved much money and heartache. Thank you Seb!
My girlfriend and I just stayed at Oia Spirit. It was a nice-in-a-life-time experience! Each room has a jacuzzi right outside the room, and the beautiful swimming pool is shared by the hotel quests.
Hi my husband and I will be visiting santorini april 5th for 4 nights and i must say all your videos have been super helpfull with tje bus routes, budget hotels, everything !!! Thank you for such authentic suggestions...we will be staying at oia suites in oia...if you have any advice pls let us know.. Thanks alot !!! Cant wait to see thie beautiful place 🥰
Do you mind if I ask- did you feel safe there? I read a review that someone had their things stolen from the room and another property told them it happens often at Armeni. We booked a stay at Armeni and now I’m second guessing it.. Also, did your room look the same as it did in the photos?
Awesome selection! what do you think about "Rimida Villas"? I had a recommendation from a friend but after seeing these options, I'm having second thoughts!
Rimida is a nice hotel, but pretty far away from the blue domes and the castle, so a bit less iconic ... But if you see it's substantially cheaper than the ones in my video, go for it !
Hello Sebastian. I am from Singapore and we'd like to visit Santorini for our honeymoon. I've watched many videos of yours on RU-vid and I find them very helpful. however, I still am so nervous and don't know where to start and not sure how to plan our honeymoon. It'll be a great help if you could give a few pointers on what we should start first before we travel to Santorini. We're looking at mid April 2024, and we're keen in staying Oia, so low for choices, not sure which hotel to choose from. We're not looking for too luxury, from affordable to mid tier, and accessible and close to the local convenience and with a good view of course. Thank you so much
I will be booking Santorini for the second week of April after watching many of your videos. Would love if you could make a video based solely on shoulder season. What weather to expect, recommended restaurants and bars, etc.
Hi Jay ! For the shoulder season I recommend the exact same things I talk about in my other videos. The only difference is that everything's cheaper and less crowded :-)
I am so glad I chance upon your video. It's so helpful. What are your thoughts on either Theodora Suites Oia or Horizon Aeifos Suites. I am staying for 5 nights in early Oct. Want to be able to get both the sunset and caldera view. Do I need to book a accommodation at higher elevation to get a better caldera view?
Sebastian, My missus and I have watched about 20 of your videos and think they are all great! We will be landing in Santorini on July 4th. A few questions for you that I’d greatly appreciate if you’d answer: 1) We are staying at Charisma Suites in Oia. Do you recommend? 2) Is there a sunset to be seen from there? 3) We like wine and plan on going to a winery on the island. What do you believe is the best for wine and ambiance/view? 4) We will be in Chania after Santorini. I know you don’t have any content on Crete but by chance do you have any restaurant, olive oil, or vineyard recommendations?
@@GreeceExplained Sebastian, Thank you for all the recommendations! We know that with your knowledge and help you’ve provided, we will have the trip of a lifetime! Just wanted your video on 2023 best times to visit santorini and was blown away by the difference from 2022’s video. Also, thanks for the pro tip on the cruise ship tracker. 3 out of 4 days we will be in Oia there will be 5 ships in port 🤦♂️. Man you are the best, thanks for helping people!
Your videos are SO helpful!! Do you have one for Santorini for older tourists? For example… hotels with less steps, tours that have low activity level, best transportation for elderly. THANKS!
Hello, I recently came across your videos and am starting to explore your suggestions. Thank you for all the valuable information! I have done some of research into the many places we plan to visit on our trip to Greece in early to late November and Santorini is our last stop. I have looked into Ode Villas Luxury Suites among some others. Do you have any experience with Ode? I am learning many places are closed for the season during the time we are there but have found places that are still going strong. I will continue searching your posts for other locations we will be stopping at on the mainland.
@@GreeceExplained thank you so much for your reply! I am going to look through your suggestions for places in Oia again. We are looking for 4 luxurious nights of a villa with a private outdoor jacuzzi for our delayed honeymoon. If you think of any other suggestions, we are open ears!
What do you think about the K&K group villas, like the Unique Houses and it’s A collection? I’m torn among these and the Cave Houses Oia( right next to the Blue Dome) and Athina Hotel. Thank you!
Hi Evelyn. K&K doesnt have a great reputation, I've had met quite a few people who weren't all that happy with their experience with them. Athina Hotel is located in the center of Fira. In my video of the Best Caldera View Hotels, I explain why I don't think staying on the cliffside of Fira is a good idea : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TZpr0XbG1fI.html Hope that helps !
Thank you for the great video - how about Maryloujohn Villas ? I booked this hotel end of September, do you recommend? Is this place close to the center? Thank you.
Hi Anita ! It's just next to Stelios Rooms, so its a 5-10 min walk to the center. I've heard some mixed reviews concerning the service, but apart from that, great location.
Cheap and quiet, BUT kinda far away from everything and not great bus connections. If you were planning on renting a car anyway, then yes I think it's a good choice.
Fira is more convenient to get around the island. Oia is more beautiful but more crowded and farther away from everything. And more expensive. Hope that helps ;-)
Last year I booked a trip to Santorini for 8 nights this coming June. We will be staying at Art Maisons Oia Castle Luxury Hotel with a private indoor to outdoor swimming pool. Yes it’s expensive, but why not? 😁 Are the restaurants in Oia within walking distance from the hotel? For example, I researched Melitini is about a 15-minute walk from our hotel. Thanks!
Wow lucky you !!! You're gonna have an amazing time. The restaurants in your area are very touristy and I would avoid them. So yes if you dont mind walking for 10-15min to get to places like Melitini, Candouni, Fino etc, I'd definitely do it !
These are the GPS coordinates of the spot : 36.460135901793805, 25.38901046518901 When you're in front of Ikies' entrance, keep left and continue going down. From there you'll see the path going to the cliffs. Its only a 1min walk from Ikies.
hi!! do you know of any public swimming pools that are open to the public? or pools in a hotel that are easy to get into 😉🤣 preferably with a caldera view
Suites of the Gods. Their swimming pool (with caldera view) is available for everyone, not only the hotel guests. Its around 60€ for a set of 2 long chairs I believe. You need to reserve ahead of time though, it tends to sell out.
Hi, I booked at Ducato di Oia, I was looking for a romantic hotel and a bit of privacy. Not too crowded. I can still book another hotel. What do you recommend? I also want to engage that holiday. Do you have any recommendations?
Hi there I am going to oia in august . We are stuck with staying at amoudi bay secret gem suites (I know about the steps) or anemi villas even the little blue house looks good . Which would you advise is better .
@@GreeceExplained can you suggest a very nice place for drinks and /or dinner to see the sunset in Oia. One of the other nice hotels that will have a nice location and atmosphere for sunset drinks or lovely patio dinner
Aspa Villas is a good alternative to Stelios Rooms if you're looking for an affordable Caldera View room in Oia. But keep in mind you're neither by the blue domes, nor the castle.
Thank you so much for the advice and information. I was wondering do you know of Aeleos eco villa imergerlovli and would you recommend them. Couple holiday and we recently got married a few months ago. Kind Regards
@@majellasorensen4554 If you're looking for "cheap" caldera view hotels, the budget rooms of Aeolos are nice indeed, around 300 / night. But I dont think the more expensive rooms are worth it (600 / night). With 600 / night, I'd definitely go to places like Above Blue or Cilon which have a nicer view and nicer rooms. (I mention them in my video of best caldera view hotels)
