she's so natural. and that's why i love and adore her so much. she's fame but she's herself and she don't tries to be someone else, she's so friendly and sweet and beautiful
To be honest, she is most likely different when she is with her friends, family, etc. Remember a personality is just that, a persona, a mask. I personally love the way she uses her hands as I am a very handsy person myself.
Oh absolutely. I think she's a great actress and shes very beautiful. I'm only reacting to her because I see the tendencies and body language of a fake personality that she adopted to make herself appear more grown up. Maybe she did it to defend herself from all the people she come into contact with. I can imagine it's tough to deal with all kinds of bossy and gifted but illogical personalities in the movie industry. I just hope she doesn't forget her real self. Because I've seen this before.
Actually, experts say body language is even more important than verbal language when humans are getting an opinion of eachother. We express our true selves through body language often without realizing it.
Also, her drinking her tea, I think is a nervous reaction she does to relieve stress and pressure. She actually wants to hide behind the cup, which is also something that hints to her true personality. The introvert who is more calm and relaxed, who wants to take things easy. But if she does that, she's afraid it might be bad for her image and that people will judge her. So she pushes herself to be perfect in order to protect herself. That's my short analysis.
She doesn't come off superior AT ALL. She has a lovely, elegant voice and posture. She's obviously come from a nice, stable background - not at all to say she's some posh snob. She's casually sipping her tea, eating her dried fruit or whatever, laughing ,joking, answering questions. Yes, she's kind of brushing her hair away but it's not in a "omg I'm so fucking beautiful" kind of way it's a "I'm thinking about what I'm saying" kind of relaxed way where she's doing it absentmindedly. CHIILL.
I get what YOU mean but I think she is a very talented actress. She was in the Lovely Bones if u think she is an 'unknown'. I agree with you when u say she is growing into herself but she is also a bit unique than other actresses. Not the Irish nationality but more because she is an old soul.
It's a certain period in life for some women who one day get tired of their typical selves (mostly due to external strains from people in their surroundings), to explore what it's like to be successful, have control and respect. I also think it's a way to shield yourself from people who you perceive to be annoying idiots, standing in the way of you ever reaching happiness and tranquility in life. It's usually a passing phase.
Yeah I know what you mean. I think she's having a hard time being herself though. This "personality" she has is a very common adopted "career girl" personality that a lot of girls are picking up in their teens or early twenties.
Same here :) Just don't be too quick to judge. I'm only saying this because this chick really does not seem to be anything like what you think she might be. Anyway, take care.
It seems like that Lawrence knows the BS that comes with acting and the movie industry; that she takes her career seriously yet knows when to just make fun of her profession and all that comes with it. I also get that she has a little bit more wisdom than girls in her position and age -- she wasn't surrounded by people saying she was wonderful all the time since she came onto the red carpet scene around Saoirse age. Now compare that to Saoirse who's been heralded since she was 13. BIG difference
LandInbetween i think i missed something in the conversation where Lawrence was mentioned but Saoirse is a MUCH more diverse actress than Lawrence. Lawrence has permanent bitch face, Ronan can play a bitch or sweetheart or whatever. She’s far and away more talented and as a person comes off much nicer.
Well, I appreciate your honesty. Personally, I can't see where people get the impression that she's being arrogant. I talk like that myself and I'm anything but an arrogant wannabe. It's difficult to judge people unless thy are being ostentatiously snotty.
My issue with your statement is that it's exactly that, a statement. Tehre is a such thing as freedom of speech, but when you're saying something that one could interpret as somewhat offensive [which you did by saying you don't mean to pick a fight or w/e], it's an opinion regardless [and all opinions are basically biased unless with factual information cited, etc], so others do have a right to defend themselves and Saoirse Ronan, whom they admire.
She was also extremely jet-lagged and less energetic. Don't give Saoirse such a hard time. I'm sure if you were that jet-lagged and sick you wouldn't be completely yourself either.
i agree with you both, BUT you have got to admit that she does have a certain grace about her (her hand gestures, the way she speaks) which may come across as "superior behavior" but is just a part of her personality. i, for one, think she's really lovely, clever and mature. in many interviews you can see that she can be fun, too. but does the tea sipping seriously gross you out?! i'm sorry, but that doesn't make any sense. i mean... she is just drinking her tea... how is that offending?
If you had watched the other interviews of her sitting in a different room the same day, she lost her voice while talking. I don't know what is so phony about being sick. The other interviews had two parts. It's the one where her father and her publicist came in with her and the lady at the door gave her the gummy pandas. Even she herself apologized for having a cold.
As much as I like Ronan, I kinda agree with fe9073. Rona is acting 'too cool for school.' She's tryin' hard to be suave but it ain't workin to her favor.
Look, everyone has the right to an opinion but if you didn't like her in two other interviews then why did you watch this one? If you don't like her then don't watch her interviews !! It's basic common sense. And how can you really be grossed out by the way she sips her tea? I just can't see how such a trivial thing can gross you out.
That's why I think she should leave the movie industry, or at least stop acting, for a couple of years and go to uni that isn't NYU. I just feel she, ironically, has made her world an insular bubble - the movie biz is really insular despite popular belief ('m a movie producer so I'm not really projecting)
This nitpicking you do kinda' makes you sound a bit pretentious. I mean if you could really dislike a person based on how he/she sips their tea, and based on hand gestures(!), then it seems like you're the kind of overly critical person who likes to rip on others for no apparent reason.
Yea I like Saoirse, but that doesn't I can't be critical of her or what she says. In this interview and in a couple of others she has this arrogance about her (which she really shouldn't have). I'm not a fanbot like others -- I don't eat up everything she says like it's golden pancakes nor do I think her acting in The Host was anything really special like the critics make it out to be.
Tori, it's one thing to disagree and to defend, but you just come across as a bit, well, defensive, and not in a healthy way. It's called being a fanatic. Let's all not try to be one.
gummy bears I think? same one she's eating in this video lol: ermmmm sorry can't post web link? anyway you can just search youtube and type: "Hanna Interview with Saoirse Ronan 'Eric Bana Would Not Stop " the first video
>>to explore what it's like to be successful, have control and respect. So like be an arrogant biotch? haha I'm not sure about the "reaching happiness" thing, though. This phase just screams insecure and immaturity despite your description - not really mature in anyway, which is sad because young women think it.
I'm a "fan" of hers, but I'm no fool who laps up everything a she says simply because she's an uncanny talented actress (there's positive comment for you). Remember, she plays pretend for a living (it seems that's all she knows). I find fans at their best when they aren't blind by the biz's smoke and mirrors.
