What I am still not able to understand - after almost 15 years in ERP/MES implementation - is what/who defines the so called standard and best practices especially in the the manufacturing space where almost every shop-floor process is unique and has it’s specific pain points. Every big solution provider like SAP is claiming they have the best in breed solution but is it really the case? Reason why, in my humble opinion, I think that UNS and building low-code modular MES application is the future of MES rather than these rigid solutions designed for a large variety of businesses and imposed from top floor.
