Sapa, well famous in the eyes of international visitors as the “town in clouds”, is even more alluring with its magnificent nature. Established as a hill station by the French in 1922, Sapa, located in the mountainous province of Lao Cai, 380 km northwest of Hanoi. It's Vietnam's most splendid highlands. Vietnam's highest mountain, Fan Si Pan, at a height of 3143 m above sea level. Sapa is the home to seven major ethnic groups, namely Hmong, Dao, Tay, Kinh, Day, Xa Pho (Phu La), and Hoa.
