Born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand 16-year-old schoolgirl Sapphire Tamalemai and her family relocated to Australia after the deadly earthquakes in 2011. For Sapphire, it was an opportunity to pursue her musical dreams. Her father, who was her number one fan, passed away in her arms from a heart attack just before she applied for The Voice. He worked three jobs to support her music dreams and had always wanted her to apply for the show. Sapphire's mum and her sister were side of stage at her Blind Audition. i'm so sorry for their family's loss! it's such a heartbreaking for little ones to lose their parent at a very young age. kelly did the right way of listening to this wonderful tone with her eyes close! you get to feel the message and the chills. she sounded a bit like Leona Lewis with those clean vocals! kelly's outfit tho, she's like a giant ribbon. ☺️

I can relate to her. I lost my father when I was 15 and it was also only my mother, younger sister, and I. My father was a big part of my life. He brought me into the life of music.
