Julian 3 That one is Samantha. When I am outside, she follows me everywhere. The cats sleep in the green house when its chilly outside. They have shelves to climb on, soft coastal hay and blankets, and pet carriers to sleep in...as a joke, I call it the Cozy Kitty Condo 🤣🤣
The reason I set the triple antibiotic ointment off to a side is because I planned on using it on a boo boo I acquired from a fall I took about a week prior to this video. 😁
Short of the chest needle, I have a pack like this that a keep behind the seat of my truck. I also keep extra tourniquets and several rolls of coban in a bag attached to the pack. I may never need it, but if I do, it's always there.
Recently finished building my own kit. Not a cheap dance. I just checked out Bear Paw ... Really nice kits and EXCELLENT sale prices. Looks like an awesome advanced first aid kit to me. I'm not an EMT, but I agree with you that it's a good idea to keep 14 ga. decompression needles and nasopharyngeal airway's on hand as there may be someone at a scene who is trained to use them. I'm a type 1 diabetic and in my 54 years of dealing with my condition, I can't tell you how many times they've been administered D-50 or D-10 to pull me out of severe hypoglycemia's. In slightly less severe situations though, those gel packs will do the job, and anyone can administer them. I hate the way they taste since I don't even like jam on my peanut butter sandwiches, but I will say that I used gel when I raced bicycles as well. That high concentration of sugar got me through many miles on the bike when I would have otherwise bonked. I much prefer the flavor of glucose tablets, but the gel is safer to give to someone who is near unconscious as they are less likely to choke on gel, plus they are much higher in calories. About 10 to 15 calories per glucose tablet, verses about 60 calories per 15 gr. gel pack. The gel also assimilates quicker than the tablets, especially if you don't chew on them. SuperGood...I was waiting for you to unpack that bad boy. My kit that resembles that I have in a big roll up toiletry bag...I also packed my different tier IFAKS in levels of most commonly needed. And in a method that you can operate your kit and gear with one hand if necessary. I will be looking forward to you doing a video on how you “MOD THAT KIT”. Thanks PrAKtikal Nurse. :>
@@praktikalnurse504 I just got the car kit. The bag is really well made. I added a CAT tourniquet more ace bandages and an NPA. The guy emailed me with a question on the NPA size the night i ordered it. I have a good IFAK, but i took an 80 hr Wilderness Medical course a couple years back and have been meaning to get a good medical kit. I like the backpack you showed, but was a little big (and spendy). I also took a 1 day tac med course on wound packing and tourniquet use. I hope i never have to use this stuff, but its nice to have. :)

I only see three items my ifak doesnt have I mainly get my stuff from Amazon and dollar tree I need a few nasal trumpets, and 18 gauge needle. But I regularly have 16 gauge needles on hand. I mainly use iv's and suboxone at work and my charge nurse is an Paramedic and an RN who's teaching me the cool stuff while I push to go to pa school to get into rural medicine
I have been collecting items for an emergency first aid kit of my own. I get most from second hand stores or yard sales. I have added some items that I don’t hear a lot about. Mustard, Himalayan salt, paper towels and cutips, soaked in wax, sewing kit, iodine, an old CD to use for signaling and a few other items. Oh yeah I get mustard packs from fast food restaurants lol. What is your opinion on these items???
Maria Favata They work. With a burn the first thing you want to do is cool the area down with plain water, while removing the person from the source of the burn, or vice versa. Don't use ice directly on as burn. Just cool water initially. Sounds like you are rockin' it! 😁

Jonathan Gillis only if you use it on yourself, or someone whom you know their allergies and reactions to antibiotics. I personally dont use it, because I have a good immune system. If you look carefully, my left eye is a little swollen. Had a spill about a week ago, that resulted in an eyelid infection and a shiner! For myself, just soap and hot water.😁
