Saracens host Bristol Bears in the first semi-final of the weekend with the hosts hoping that their rich vein of form will help carry them to the Stone X Stadium in two weeks time. The visitors were looking to make history as the first ever team to make it to The PWR Final after being the away side in the semis.

A good game,Saracens played like it was a forgone conclusion that they would win,its good to be confident, but they seem genuinely surprised that Bristol suddenly came at them with such good rugby,to me at least that explains the high penalty count and consequently the loss.

The first try was a try purely on the grounds that the tackle was around her neck.

I thought Leanne Infante's yellow card was harsh - perhaps a reflection that the Ref's patience with Sarries in general had been severely tested.

What has happened to her with regards the Red Roses? Despite being a Gloucester fan, I have thought that she has been the best No 9 for some time.

@@stevemathews9535 I'm pretty sure I've heard her say she's still interested in being selected so I assume the Coaches prefer the (many) alternatives for reasons that remain unclear (to me). Personally, I loved Claud Mac at#9 but she's better for the team on the wing. I'm not impressed with Mo Hunt (kicking and passing not up to scratch and her party trick - quick tap and go - often backfires as she's isolated). If Leanne is not in favour I'd rather see Lucy P, and Ella W duke it out for the #1 spot - maybe with Tori S as understudy.

@@suckers0 I watch Mo often at Gloucester and she is playing as well as ever and I believe that she is very instrumental in the team's success. However, I agree that she uses the box kick ( in fact I fail to see the tactical benefit as in the women's game it never goes high enough to allow players to compete) too frequently and looses possession as a result and her "tap and go" used too often. I am undecided about Lucy Packer but she has played very well for Quins and has never let the Red Roses down but does not have the aggression, competitiveness or defence of Mo or Leanne. Claudia for the wing but could always fill in at 9. I do like Ella Wyrwas and would consider Lucy Burgess of Bears

@@SandSMat You may well be right on Mo, though, alternatively, might her performance reflect the amount/quality of possession behind such a dominant forward line up? Maybe I'm splitting hairs - I don't envy the Coach's job in selecting the 'best' player at #9 or many other positions as the Red Roses are currently blessed with strength in depth. Agreed on the box kick - there's no 3-4 sec hang time in the women's game is there!

@@suckers0 I am astounded that Emma Sing is not being given an RR contract (Perhaps she was but turned it down) she is the stand out No 15 in the PWR , dare I say as good as Ellie Kildunne and can kick better. I would be comfortable putting Ellie's talent to use on the wing now that she has learnt to pass. Putting my head below the parapet now. See also my comments above about Cleale and M Packer.

Well played Bears. Sarries discipline was poor contributing to their loss with Cleale and Packer at their petulant best. The former's attitude, playing close to, and often over, the legal edge, probably contributed to her failure to get a Red Roses contract. I think that Packer is very close to her England sell by date and I don't believe that she should be an automatic choice. I can't wait to see this Bear's team taking on Gloucester - we have our tickets.

Agree,Marley spent far too much time chiding the ref.

100% agree. At 54:00 Packer needlessly gives away an unforced penalty, which directly leads to the Bears second try. Very pleased to see Cleall dropped from England as she has a shocking disciplinary record.

That seemed like a good match but it was hard to tell because the video resolution was so poor. I watched Northampton vs Saracens in the men's semi-final more that a week ago and the quality of the video presentation was excellent at 1920x1280 HD. I could identify players, follow the ball as it was passed or kicked, etc. The video I've just suffered through here was a blurry mess at 854x480 resolution. I couldn't see where the ball was half the time, could only identify players in close-up shots, and didn't know why the referee made some of the decisions he did because I JUST COULDN'T SEE. The players on the pitch are professionals and should be respected as such with a professional presentation of the game, rather than this abject, blurred, amateurish nonsense.

Thanks for your assessment of the technical qualities of who ever was filming. Most of Women's rugby hasnt yet had first grade TV coverage but in my opinion if you couldn't judge the match based on You Tube I have just watched can I respectfully suggest you consider an eye test.

@@staratrainingsevices313 In return, can I respectfully suggest that you watch the men's match I referred to to witness the difference in the video quality. If you can't see it then either you have much lower standards than I do, or you're the one that needs the eye test.

Commentator, to be erudite, verbosity does not show ergodicity. Pretty simple?
