Sarah & Craig - Bassmead Manor Barns 02/09/21
Hello, and welcome to the very first of my wedding blogs! I am absolutely delighted to kick off the blogs with a very special wedding that I was fortunate enough to capture in September 2021.
Sarah and Craig (aka Buzz and Muffin) have been through thick and thin together, and had the enormous task of planning a stunning wedding in a very short amount of time. In fact, it nearly didn’t happen at all due to poor Craig contracting Covid just days beforehand! It’s safe to say that wedding videography was not at the top of their priority list, but some difficult family news made it essential that their day was captured and remembered forever. I am honoured that they chose me to help them record their precious memories, and I feel very lucky to have been a part of such a beautiful and emotional day.
The new Mr & Mrs Misciali chose Bassmead Manor Barns in St Neots as the backdrop for their day, and I have to say it is a personal favourite of mine. As you step over the footbridge and enter the Bridal Garden, the tranquility and rustic beauty of this venue is jaw-dropping. The fairytale venue was dressed to perfection in dusty blue and white, and it backs onto lush fields that the happy couple later chose to use for a smoke cannon walk with their bridal party which made for some great cinematic wedding footage.
There was a huge sense of anticipation and a real buzz (no pun intended, Craig!) in the Bridal Boudoir as the bride, bridesmaids and adorable flower girl, Thea, prepared for the day ahead. As a wedding film maker, it’s so important for me to notice all the little details that could get missed, like their gifts to each other, and to capture all of the emotion of the day. Sarah chose a simple, elegant A-line gown with a jeweled belt which she pulled off to perfection, with the bridesmaids in dusty blue. At this point, I have to shout out the killer tattoos that were on display - this was a seriously cool wedding party with a great sense of style! The intimate ceremony took place in Bassmead Manor’s 300-year old Rickety Barn and this truly was the perfect setting for the perfect couple. Sarah’s grin said it all as she was escorted down the aisle by her lovely dad towards her groom. Thankfully for Sarah, there was not a plastic penguin in sight!
Dinner was served in the Bridge Barn (an important event for two self-confessed foodies!), followed by beautiful, heartfelt speeches from the bridal party. Special mention to the father of the bride, Nigel, who absolutely smashed it - what a legendary 3 minutes and 21 seconds it was! Later in the evening, the fairy lights around the venue added the wow factor as Sarah, Craig and their guests danced the night away.
The most important part of my job as a wedding videographer is making sure that all the emotions of the day come flooding back whenever couples watch their wedding film, and that you can be taken back to that special moment at the click of a button. Emotions were riding high throughout the day, and it was a privilege to be able to commit it all to film for them to keep forever. It was my pleasure to capture the marriage of these two gym buddies, and I wish them every happiness in continuing their wonderful journey together.
And to think, it all started with a conversation about chicken.
