Trust in the Metropolitan Police has been "shaken" by the murder of Sarah Everard by a serving officer, the force's commissioner has admitted. How can it be repaired? Please subscribe HERE bit.ly/1rbfUog
Dame Cressida Dick said she recognised "a precious bond of trust has been damaged" and she would ensure "any lessons" were learned from the case.
She was delivering a statement after facing calls to resign.
The Met faces questions over whether chances were missed to prevent Wayne Couzens from murdering Ms Everard.
Newsnight’s Sima Kotecha reports.
Kirsty Wark is joined by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Sir Tom Winsor, Shadow minister for safeguarding, Jess Phillips, and criminologist and Met Police adviser, Betsy Stanko.

He was literally labelled and called 'the rapist' by his colleagues...how does that itself not ring alarm bells
@aineomaille4332

Probably because people throw around that sort of edgy joke all the time. Then when you look back on one that turned out to be more than just a joke, the whole confirmation bias issue comes into play. It ends up evoking a little of ‘the boy who cried wolf’, as the overwhelming majority of the ‘wolves’ aren't wolves at all.

Because since the days of orphanages in 1820, the police and social services have been heavily involved in corruption dealing with the trafficking of unregistered children for slavery within the u.k. This is of thd highest degree not bottom feeders, this is elite level military guarded and multi billion pound privatised industry regulated and covered up on an international scale unfathomable to public comprehension, including air control, sea control and borders and systematic government institutions of the highest level. The true nature of this reality is still hidden underground and behind reinforced steel doors.

What's really revolting and disturbing about this is that 'The Rapist' was his nickname, as if that were a light-hearted thing. What does that tell you about his colleagues, who thought nicknaming a colleague 'The Rapist' was amusing? The Guardian reports that 15 serving or former police officers have killed women since 2009. Stomach-churningly disgusting; I feel so terribly sorry for Sarah and her family. I hope Wayne Couzens life in prison is absolute hell. But it hugely disturbs me that his colleagues, who apparently found it amusing to have a work mate known as 'The Rapist', are presumably still serving police officers.

This IS a real problem! When I was 15 I was being stalked by a 35 yr old. I went into the police station to report it and was placed in a room with a police officer who was about 40 yrs old. When I was telling the policeman about things the guy had been doing like making sexual innuendos, following me home and trying to grope me, the policeman man said 'I don't blame him' and gave me this creepy look! I realised my complaint wasn't going anywhere, so I left and just started carrying pepper spray.

So if a woman is wearing a swimming costume at a beach or a pool then is she asking for it? Guys go completely shirtless in hot weather and feel safe. I would question effectiveness of the methods. On those evaluations you can mimic feelings and give the right answers. All things die you know nothing about the cat or how old it was or how it died. The correct response is not to react like the cat is being tortured or feel for the owner...or immidiately quiz who killed the cat. I.e. all people are evil, someone killed the cat. If it were me in her shoes, I would have left you ASAP. I can't think of anything worse, in personal relationship terms, than giving someone the best of me or the best years of my life only to discover that there is such a degree of mistrust. To your list of the most untrustworthy people of all (the Church and the police) I would add psychologists etc. I have found that in addition to those with authority and the illusion of goodness are those who pretend to understand and care about your mental health. Trust in the Police ended a long time ago for me. Around the time they took to the Knee when it was politically correct to do so, but treated anti-lockdown or anti-stature removal protesters like scum. The various videos of how Police Officers screamed at people during lockdown didn't help either. We have tp expect a small % of criminal activity within the Police force, but poor police behaviour and their general attitude is now quite widespread.

One big problem is the police seem to have become politicised in recent years, and it does feel like ideologues are in positions of influence. That is something that most people I know now distrust the police even more because of, and it seems like it is getting worse. Many people have lost the little respect they had for them, and when something like this happens it is like a hammer blow.

Absolutely, and it’s not just young women who are targeted. After trying to obtain the release of CarolE Wood, (both CarolE Wood and Melanie Shaw were just seized from behind by two police 👮🏼‍♂️ persons and thrown into a windowless WVM.) In 2015 two young Detectives 🕵️‍♂️ came to our home in a windowless WVM, saying they were going to take me away for Questioning regarding a female solicitor the practice of 3 Seaside Lane, Easington , Co Durham, in relation to her being stalked. A Rousse! Husband said “She can’t get into that thing WVM, she is Disabled”. “Oh don’t worry we will help her into the back alone without any help from you”. Husband said “Warrant or no Warrant on your way, you are not taking off with my wife”. Reluctantly, they went in the same WVM they came in. Then January 23rd 2020, Durham Police, David Burnip & David Tindale & Lee Downey of Darlington Social Services. Sent Durham PACT sending a Voluntary Stranger from the ‘ 700 Club’, of Grange Rd Baptist Church to abduct me again. Telling husband she had Authorisation to send me to Manchester that very night. My husband apparently needed Carer Respite, though he had not requested any Carer Respite. No I.D except an obscure lanyard, and I was to go to Manchester for Respite, that very night. Trying to push her way past husband in order to get to me and approach me (Very Christian - not ) informing she would give husband a telephone 📞 number to Ring, after assessment in Manchester, as I would be moved on from there. Husband said “ you can tell PACT, Social Services and Lee Downey to be on their way, you are not forcefully Removing my wife from our home”. Horrified, we had visions of a Dr Shipman type “Professional” awaiting us in order to give me a Lethal Injection, under Category D misuse of Terrorism Act . So tyvm for warning ALL females to avoid False Arrest Warrants.

When mum picked up the car all the paint and paper along with the golf clubs were gone. Never trusted the police and never will....
