What you would see in this video is our very own Popstar Royalty, the main CONTEMPORARY/POP DIVA of our country, serving us authentic, fresh, and diverse CONTEMPORARY vocals. Sarah is honestly the most accurately versatile artist in the country. Just like what coach Yazik said in his reaction video on her duet w/ Fana, “Sarah understands every genre and she delivers”. He also stated in his new reaction video (“About Damn Time”) that Sarah is indeed “vocally flawless” and he likes her “placement” choices too. Sarah, the main POP girl in the country, knows how to sound like a legit BRANDED popstar when singing CONTEMPORARY music while still being technical (in a physiological way) without having any tendencies to sound like an amateur contesera/biritera still. She knows how to mix techniques with the current sound of a branded RECORDING artist while still sounding distinct in the local scene. This is the kind of voice and style that is actually good for recording and for marketing. As you can also see, her head voice has improved even more after her hiatus. It’s already been really good in the past. Her head voice is actually one of coach Yazik’s most favorite head voice among all the head voice users that he heard. Due to Sarah’s lower than normal tessitura, her head voice contains such thickness without having to fake her placement. She can play with the color, texture, and shape of her head voice while still maintaining the richness of its sound. She also adds a very beautiful contemporary soulful/jazzy style to it which makes it even more unique and far from being BORING, PREDICTABLE, and STIFF for contemporary music. Her low notes have also improved even more. She’s now singing them in a more neutral larynx without trying to over-amplify the sound. The volume is very congruent and very relative to her general dynamics as well as her placement choices. She does not need to overdepress her larynx just to reach them with body & audibility unlike most local female sopranos with higher tessitura. This is Sarah’s advantage as someone with a lower tessitura. She may not have the most effortless and the most open upperbelts, but she has one of the most effortless and most natural low notes in the country despite singing in a more neutral placement and laryngeal position than most local female singers. Her midbelts, on the other hand, are still the same. Whenever she chooses to be technical with them, it still has the distinctly full/mezzo-like resonance even in a neutral larynx. Her vibrato and her agility are still intact too. Her upperbelts, despite being outside of her true comfort zone, are still there but with more natural vowels this time. The mixing that she’s done recently is very balanced and compressed (in her mask which is healthy). We still haven’t heard her trademark powerful & piercing upperbelts yet as well as her growls since her comeback. She has shown a lot of improvements after her 2 year hiatus, and she still hasn’t shown us the real extent of her current capabilities. Everything she’s shown us is only a glimpse of what she can really do now after taking a two year hiatus to rest and to also improve her craft. I can’t wait to see what she’s going to showcase in this upcoming concert tour & album release. She’s definitely taking her BRANDED contemporary sound into an even higher level like we’ve never seen her before.
