"You've always been against me" Rafe is in the wrong for killing, but that line hit deep. He was misunderstood and needed help. He told his father, someone he wanted to receive love from, he needed help. All he wanted was love, he craved his father's acceptance and love so bad that that is what fucked his mind up, and that's the scary part, since all he wanted was his father's love, he was willing to do anything for it.

Yes... Rafe is a bad person. But that part when he says "Wait, please don't leave me!" always gets me.

Ward, Rafe and Sarah. My favorite characters. I really believe that the last episode showed that he truly did care for Rafe and I see that as a huge step for someone like Rafe. He went from not caring that he shot his own sister, potentially almost killing her, to having a choice on whether to shoot her in the last episode, and he chose not to. I don't know about you guys, but I see that as growth.

In the first season I just thought rafe was a drugged up bully or something. Idk why but I felt like theor could be a redemption for him. But after season 2 I don’t think their anyway to redeem him. I love Rafe hes the best all he wants to do is be the best. He just needs someone to love him and being mean is his cover for how broken he really is and with ward telling him man up and "caring" abt him is only gonna kill Rafe. You can tell Rafe clearly cares about her, and loves her. He is not a perfect brother. He clearly needs help. Like if he didn't care about her even a little bit, he would've shot her again at the end of the season. And I am in no way shape or form dismissing the things he did to hurt Sarah.

in some sad way, i do think there is a part of him that cares about Sarah and wants to be a good brother, however with his poor mental capacity and psychological problems, his father’s love and constant proof of validation was something that meant more. only problem was that sarah received the praise and attention rafe wanted. not trying to justify his attempt in drowning or shooting her (bc obviously that’s fked up) but this could also be me trying to look for good in someone that’s clearly gone crazed.

For all the comments saying Rafe loves her, I think you’re wrong. I don’t think he loves anyone. I don’t think he even knows what love is. His entire life he’s been neglected by his parents, watching as Sarah the “perfect child” got all the attention he so desperately craved. This caused jealousy and hatred towards her. His stepmother doesn’t give him the time of day, he has nothing in common with either sisters and never bonded with them, his dad was a bully to him and we can assume not ever nice or loving towards him, and it’s never discussed if he’s had a serious someone in his life he’s been in love with. He craves to be loved I think, that’s why he does everything he can to please his father, and ultimately, to be loved by him. But he doesn’t even love himself, he hates himself. I think it was the cause of his drug problem too. That’s just my two cents. And I think the only way this will end is with Rafe dying, perhaps as a “sacrifice” for the greater good may make him redeemable in everyone’s eyes. Though he makes an interesting character, like Topper, and I hope they find a way to salvage his character.

I honestly feel bad for Ward… He just wanted his family to have a perfect life and have everything they wanted. He just loves too much, to the point where blood is involved.
