Fabulous Q&A, many of the topics were relevant to me and I loved the planting suggestions. I adore your podcast and have been listening from the beginning, I also love Sarah’s recipes! Love from Seattle USA.
Thank you so much. I absolutely love your podcast and it was great to see you answering all these interesting questions on the tele. Awesome. I live in New Zealand.
Thank you both so much for generously sharing your ideas and some of your experience. All very interesting and completely enjoyable. I certainly learnt lots! ❤️
I appreciate this vlog is 2 years ago but Arthur if you're still looking for single roses I can recommend my Mum and my favourites respectively Tottering by Gently (primrose yellow, beautiful scent) and Ballerina (Looks like a hydrangea pink and white clusters of flowers that can be encouraged to climb). Love your vlogs you compliment each other perfectly. x
Thank you. Hope more to come. A bigger problem here in Sweden now is the klopyralid in farmers field. Tomatoes and peas are most vulnerable. A protest petition with more than 15000 names is sent to Government. Most soilmanufacturers and gardentraders argree. In Denmark klopyralid was found in honey from rapeseed fields. Perhaps a stop from EU is needed now. The Government is quite and farmers cant do without the chemicals they say...
HI I had to keep replaying due to the English accent but well worth the extra time, so informative. I'm in 6B zone so' I do need to take that into consideration. What is your zone? BTW I've been cooking from your book In Season for years, it's my go to. The minestrone soup is a family favorite, delicious! Thank you for all you do.
Hello from New England, USA ! I was looking for the plant names “ Erigeron”. Voila ! Your page jumped up ! I really enjoy your program even though I live in Connecticut. My soil is ACIDIC and quite shady! Any suggestions!
Thank you for all the informations you share with us...when you said that salvia is great companion plant for the roses you meant the medicinal or the ornamental one?
Re the mint as a deterrent for ants, did you mean put the mint leaves on the soil surface in the container, or place the mint in the ground around the foot of the container? Thank you 🙂
Might I suggest that the peat-free alternatives are also not quite fine enough for adequate seed germination. Working in the compost industry, I know for a fact that many peat-free mixes do not have manure incorporated, certainly not for professional growers. We are having to rely on coir propagation mixes as a fair substitute.
I am 60 year old who was diagnosed 24 months ago with Parkinson's. I have severe calf pain, muscle pain, slurred speech, frequent falls, loss of balance, difficulty in getting up from sitting position, I was having a problem accepting my diagnosis, even though I've read every thing I can find to read. I've been put on Sinemet 3 times daily but it doesn't seem to be helping. I also have difficulty writing. Getting in bed, turning over.this year our family doctor started me on ( Health Herbs Clinic ) Parkinson’s Disease Herbal mixture, 6 months into treatment I improved dramatically. At the end of the full treatment course, the disease is totally under control, no case of Parkinson’s disease, hallucination, weakness, muscle pain or tremors. I’m strong again and able to go about daily activities
Re the birds eating the aphids, I always wondered how do the birds know to come to a particular patch of garden. They never seem to eat my mass aphids - I didn’t realise you’d have to actually encourage them
I cannot grow either Dahlias or Cosmos because in wet weather the slugs and snails decimate them in one night! No amount of slug patrol can deal with the buggers
