On Thursday, January 23, 2014, Chief Bernadette DiPino held a swearing-in ceremony for three new officers.
Chief DiPino added, "I'm excited to add these officers to our force. They embody the qualities the Sarasota Police Department values which are professionalism, dedication and commitment to our community."
The following officers joined the Sarasota Police Department as 2nd Class Probation:
Officer Robert Morrison
Officer Isven Chavez Sanchez
Officer Clifton Bishop
Officer Robert Morrison joined the Sarasota Police Department from Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he worked as a police officer for the last 10 years.
Officer Isven Chavez Sanchez just graduated from the 123rd Academy Class held at the Sarasota County Technical Institute Criminal Justice Academy. He's from Sarasota, holds an Associate Arts degree and began working at the Sarasota Police Department as a part-time maintenance employee before being recruited for a police officer position.
Officer Clifton Bishop is a Florida native from Alachua. He graduated with his Associate Arts degree from Santa Fe Community College. Officer Bishop has a retail background in the grocery industry.
