Saraswati Puja is celebrated on the fifth day (Panchami Tithi) of the Shukla Paksh of the Hindu month of Magha. This day is also known as Basant Panchmi. Goddess Saraswati is worshiped for knowledge, culture, wisdom, music and art. It is believed that worshiping Goddess Saraswati in the bright fortnight of the month of Magha (fifth day) is of immense importance.
Maniktala Canal East Road patuapar is also known as second Kumartuli of kolkata, same like kumartuli this place is a small locality in Kolkata which is another unique potter’s quarter in the northern part of the Kolkata.This place is also famous for its expertise with sculpting Indian Gods and Goddesses out of clay for different festivals in West Bengal throughout the year.
