thank you, and I'm sorry it's taken so long to reply. I generally only reply on my PC and haven't been on much lately. It's taken me a bit longer to get the wind back underneath my sails, but I'm just about there! I hope you have been doing well!
You mentioned steroids. I know very little about steroid use, but what immediately comes to mind, is guys trying to put on muscle mass. I do know it can be used for a host of other medical treatments, but what I don't know, if how it may or may not differ from that which is used to build that muscle. Like many such treatments, it can be easily abused and causes the body to heal more quickly from whatever is being treated, but my understanding is that it can cause some long-term health effect if used to frequently or in too large a dose. With that understanding, I am glad you are avoiding the use of steroids, when some down time or general body discomfort seems to be as bad as it gets. Humans have been conditioned to simply "take the medicine" and not always consider the longer term effects or immunity that can arise from excessive doses.
I didn't mention it, but if you are familiar with the actor Bernie Mac, he died of complications related to his sarcoid (which I THINK was in his lungs) and him being on steroids.
I am having a good mental health week. I made it through a complete week at work without calling in (not necessarilyrelated to mental health). It may not sound like alot, but it is still a victory. Take your time Steve. I'll be sending you good juju/prayers. We'll be here when you can make it back.
