I am 65 and recently started bowling again after 30 yrs. Back then, men were using 16lb balls. I bought a 14lb Hammer NU and had it drilled full fingertip. I was experiencing a lot of pain in the 2nd knuckle of my ring finger. After watching Nick's video about why he went to Sarge Easter grip I decided to try it. The result was phenomenal. The pain in my knuckle is gone and scores went up. I'm glad to see that it is working for you also.
Love the flashback in the intro! Nice to see the recovery was positive and that it helped become better than you were before! You are a strong girl Sarah! Last week was my week to Bowl and I damn near won but missed out on the victory by 6 points all courtesy of a strike in the last frame along with a near spare. Kudos to you for how far you’ve come and how AMAZING of a bowler you are!
Such a helpful video and Brunsnick is great. I started out with 15lbs and dropped to 14lbs due to an wrist pain. Thanks for the video update, would like to see more.
Hi Sarah , hate to hear about your wrist tendon , it can be a bad pain ... I'm glad the new grip is helping , and i believe you said you didn't have as many leagues this year ? Great videos, looking beautiful as always , have a great day
Nice to hear the recovery is positive. You are putting in the work to be able to continue to bowl. Good choices and good coaching, plus setup with Bruns-Nick has definitely made a difference for you.
I would look into alternatives to surgery, there are plenty of options. I had a severe case of tennis elbow as the league season ended last April and could share my recovery protocol if you like.
Hmmm... Dumb question inbound!: Would switching to 2 handed style help in your situation? Having that extra support might be good... or maybe not, Idk! Glad to hear you doing better, BTW.
Hey there Kiddo! Old dude here! I tell these hot shot kids that I have to have an "old man" attitude ... If I don't knock thm down on the first roll I have to waste precious energy (In your case your wrist) taking another shot! Love ya! 😉
When I used the sarge easter grip my tilt was basically 0. It is hard to change your tilt because the ring finger is conventional and it has to come out of the ball so it takes longer than just the tip of the finger. As long as you drill everything to the PAP and realize that Pin Down may not work (because of the 1 7/16 ^ ) you should be good to go. Rotation will come with time (to fix rotation work on taking the thumb out and doing release drills with no thumb in the ball).
Hi Sarah! I’ve tried the sarge grip in the past and it was weird to get use to so I didn’t stick with it. Glad it’s working for you. I’m curious to know what your other specs are such as axis tilt, rotation, speed and rev rate at release. I’m a nerd and enjoy coming up with layouts and maybe could offer some.
As just a Joe average person in there 50’s that has also changed to the Sarg Easter due to a fractured bone in my wrist it was hard to find a pro shop that was confident in drilling my ball. How do I know I am getting the right type of set up? I am not pain free but it’s better. How can I better communicate my needs to a local shop to get the most out of my game?
Glad the grip change is working, but will this really solve your issue forever? If surgery will FIX your wrist, then surgery is a good thing. I had shoulder surgery in February and am bowling better than ever now that my arm is fixed. Sure, recovery was (and still is) hard and I missed 7 months of bowling, but now I have the rest of my life to use my repaired shoulder.
@@Jason_P it definitely won’t solve my issue forever just the time being until i’m ready to have the surgery! i’m still pretty young so not really wanting to do it just yet
@@sarahbowls Well the quicker you get it done the quicker you can get on with Life. I'm about to turn 50 and my shoulder is sore but otherwise SOLID. I can say from experience that you'll be SO GLAD when the surgery is done. I've also been using the Sarge Easter grip for years. For me, it was a finger\hand injury that caused me to try it, but I can't go back to having two fingertips.
@@sarahbowls Just remember the younger you have the surgery the faster you recover. As our bodies age recovery from any surgery or injury takes a bit longer. This is definitely from experience LOL
I love that you have 2 different shoes on. We use to do that for basketball in high school. The other day me and my daughter were in the market and she was looking at me all weird and smirking, i look down and i have 2 different shoes on. 🤦♀️😂😂 she said, im going to the car. They were 2 different style shoes, idk how i didnt botice the feel. 😂 wtf im a mess @@sarahbowls
