I'd like to thank you for having a short video explaining everything you need to know about installation. Quick and simple. None of this "look at me while I talk for half an hour" crap.
Every explanation video on the internet needs to be cut and dry like this. Straight to the point, not trying to get us to get to know you and all of the unimportant fluff. Thank you!
Tom Mahan Thank you for your feedback, Tom. We'll be sure to send that to our product team for consideration. We're always looking to improve the experience of our customers, and we can't do that without input such as yours. Additionally, we're glad you found the video useful! Happy riding.
@@SarisOfficial You should do more than SUGGEST it for "consideration." You should REQUIRE printed English, grammatically correct, instead of the current manner of giving pictures-only instructions. They are extremely difficult for many of us. Thanks Saris.
I bought one at a bike shop today for my trek marlin four. I like it but I’m always a little worried about my bike flying off the back. I have yet to put two bikes on it. Seems like a pain to take it off frequently. I’m going to keep mine on all spring and summer. Do these things get stolen ever?
This rack holds two bikes VERY well. Just make sure everything is tightly strapped on. I use it on an Accord 2004 and it's super easy to get on and off. If you ever have trouble getting it off, just open your car trunk and that will help. Happy biking!
I just my 2 bike rack today and have it installed but I’m having trouble getting the second bike on. Is there a video showing how to load the 2nd bike?
Hi Dee Dee: We do not have a video showing how to load two bikes since the scenario looks different depending on the geometries of the two bikes. It may take some to get the pedals and handlebars just right. Your local Saris dealer can help, too.
Why on Earth can manufacturers not have written instructions any more? Trying to decipher the meaning of pictures when a couple of sentences would be much more helpful.
just bought new bone 2 black out of no grey colour. i suggest that black bone 2 the alloy beam comes in silver just like the rest colour scheme. the full black bone 2 looks cheapo without silver colour mount beam.
I have 2 VW vans, a '67 Campmobile and an '87 Syncro (look'em up) and this rack works on both vehicles well. I rest the top pad on the window of both..
Hi! This looks great. Does it still allow for visibility of the license plate on the car in the video? I'm moving cross-country and trying to follow all of the road rules on my way across.
Depending on what vehicle you drive and where the rack needs to be installed on that vehicle, can vary on visibility for the license plate. You will have to explore the local laws for the state(s) you will travel through to determine if this will be an issue for you.

I got the Saris Bones 2 for my 2013 CRV and was assured it would work with any SUV. I just purchased a 2019 Mazda CX-5 and the side clips do not fit into the sides of the rear hatch. The strap is long enough but the contour of the door does not allow it to set firmly into the "slot" on either side. Any suggestions??
Try the bottom clips in the sides, and side clips in the bottom. That's how they suggested I hookup my MK7 VW Golf. If that doesn't work, you can get their Hatch Hugger straps.
There are three widths of clips on each side. The widest ones go on the top of the boot, the medium ones go at the sides, and the thinest ones go at the bottom. (As per the instructions that came in the box).
Did what the video said to do but I still have a lot of bike sway. Is there a way to stop my bike from swinging? I'm concerned that eventually the straps will break from the constant stress from my bike swinging all the time.

Hi. Could you advise Ford Kuga 2017 installation, please? There's no rear bumper ledge in my car, however, it's on the compatible vehicles lits. I appreciate your support.

Hi Juan: The Bones 2-bike can be used with bikes up to 35 pounds. For a beach cruiser, you'd need an accessory like the Bike Beam (www.saris.com/product/bike-beam) to create a virtual top tube so you can you can transport the bike in the correct orientation.
