Saritha is one my most favorite actors. She is such a nice humble human being and it is so easy to predict that she is introverted. I wish we see more of her in the films - such a committed composed actor who doesn't take herself so seriously for her many many accomplishments.

Saritha ma'am is one of the finest actors our country has produced. No wonder her experience in acting 23 movies of KB sir made her a holistic actor. She needs to act more.

Excellent interview. As someone who started school in late 70s this retospective interview was like looking back my growing years. What a journey this legendary actor Saritha had. Like she said - all were tough roles. Much beyond her age. My first memory of Saritha was mouna geethangal. It used to come as a thodarkathai in kumutham with still photos of her and Bagyaraj. The Suguna character we imagined while reading, she brought to life in screen and was an amazing hit. Good that Mr.Bharadwaj touched on single shot of Achamillai achamillai..anothet favorite performance. What a range of emotions she would have expressed..a peerless performance. Thaneer thaneer, agni satchi, nool veli, vandi chakram, netrikan, sujatha, oomai viligal are some of my favorites ( of Saritha's performances). Arguably Keel vaanam sivakkum is one of her finest performances where at times she would have out performed the legendary Sivaji Ganesan. Tamil cinema was undergoing a rapid transformation in late 70s and 80s - Ilayaraja, rural movies, strong social themes, many directors ( inspired by success of Bharathiraja, Mahendran) emerged from diverse bwckgrounds, Kamal and Rajini trandforming into super stars, many new heroines ( breaking the traditional definitions) emerged... Thats why we call that period as evergreen 80s. Saritha is a shining star in the firmament of those 80's. Enjoyed this interview. Thanks a lot Ms.Saritha for providing ys such wonderful movies. Saritha is one example of directors artist. How many amazing performances she has given in all south indian languages. She has done amazing job in dubbing field also for other actresses as well. I was watching Amman a couple days ago and the pain she showed when Soundarya was getting hit by villain that too in Tamil and telugu, her intensity was same and didn't reduce a bit when she dubbed in tamil after telugu. Her output was same.. Enna artist cha...

She is so non-chalant while describing events, is unassuming and full of humility. Just a great combination... She is a role model for any working professional, no matter what your career is. Baradwaj didn’t seem to understand Saritha's pain and stressful experience doing Vedham Pudithu, Bharatiraja being utterly unprofessional, signing her up for the role of a mother of a 15 year girl, and changing it completely when she came on the set, makibg her play her contemporary Amala's mother! Great to know that Saritha returned the paycheck when the movie released.
