I have rarely come across such an honest discussion on the topic concerned..cheers to panellists!

AN EXCELLENT academic debate with some deep perspectives but caste will remain in social sphere till basic , the core reason of caste is not resolved ie SHARING OF ROTI AND BETI , MEANS till inter caste dinning and inter caste marriages are not being promoted it can not end , all debates will be just intellectual pleasures .

Of late, there are many shares and likes against the reservations in toto. Let me clarify, the reason for providing reservation to certain socially oppressed section was not based on economic conditions, infact, the reservation was provided to SC & ST's to help them to come out of the social oppression. But, even after 68 years of Independence and 65 years of constitutional support barring few exceptions their condition remain the same. The social oppression faced by them dates back to thousands of year and hence can not be expected to wipe out in 50 to 60 years. Therefore, the reservation to SC's 15% & ST's 7.5% should continue at least for another 100 years. As regards to other category reservations all should go because it is politically motivated and we are noticing every now and then a dominant caste protesting for reservation claiming backwardness in some section of their community. THE PURPOSE OF RESERVATION IS TO EMANCIPATION OF DALITS FROM THE SOCIAL OPPRESSION. THE DOMINANT CASTE OF HINDUS SHOULD NOT MISUNDERSTAND IT AND SHOULD NOT CONFUSE THEMSELVES WITH ECONOMIC RESERVATION.

Good debate on the issue of reservation

Two reforms are urgently needed in reservation policy .First one is, reservation should be based on one’s economic status not on one’s caste or religion and other is those, who have elevated to mainstream or become middle class family, must be deprived of reserved quota, by doing so remaining underprivileged people can find more space and can be brought to mainstream with greater pace, consequently reservation could be exponentially reduced to zero, in addition to it economically weaker people in unreserved class will not feel discriminated in their own land, why are they being punished for the guilty which was committed by their grand grandfathers…????????

jat, maratha,gurjar Kya chahte hain agriculture should improve and since agriculture is going down therefore they r demanding reservation

I suggest a solution. Please reserve seat to Brahmins as per their population. Rest all will be taken care.

the panel in debate forget that the benefit of reservation reaped by a section within the reserved caste i want to know in 65 years how many caste disown the benefit of reservation the irony is more and more caste demand for reservation so reservation is playing a political tool more to garner the vote instead of empowering the needy one . constitution says equal should be treated equally but within reserved caste their are sections & families which reaped the benefit of caste through generations,so infact they are not equal among reserved caste itself as they have progressed already by gaining the benefit of reservation and these section garner the most of benefit for the needy one and they are so much influential they doesnot want the benefit of reservation to them to gone away. so my take is that reservation is necessary but it must also include the exclusion of the already benefitted annually so that they get out of such benefits and the most needy can be benefited for this regular monitoring is required and first action is to exclude the people of reserved category and their kins to get benefit ,who had got the benefit and economically well placed and add a criteria like creamy layers for them too and that to realistic not keeping so high the limit so as to please the upper section of reserved category
