It's pretty predictable behaviour coming from Vtweeters. They'll say pretty much anything in order to "Cancel" or make other Vtubers out to be less respectable. They're bitter because they aren't as successful and profitable as those Vtubers, not realising it's because they don't fucking make anything lmao. It's like Calli said in Off With Their Heads: "Start creating, stop tweeting."
It's basically the same attitude most SJWs carry: expecting EVERYONE to listen to their hollow virtue signalling and throwing infantile temper tantrums when people ignore or dismiss them. Something being a joke doesn't inherently make it ok. If someone is makeing a joke to make fun of a group; then the joke is not in good spirit, its intention is to get enjoyment out of the ridicule or the suffering of others. So saying "its just a joke" is not a defense. Meaning it doesn't matter if it was a joke or not, it matters what exactly was said, what are reasonable ways to interpret what was said and if any of those reasonable interpretations are bad, even if not the intended meaning. Because when saying something in a public space especially as a public figure of influence or authority, you are responsible not just for your intent but for the effect what you say has on other people. If people misinterpret what you said because you didn't have enough nuance, and thru that misinterpretation are still hurt by it or use it as justification for hurting others, you hold some level of blame for that lack of nuance. To think otherwise means that there is no onuse on anyone to be nuanced ever and is to claim that no matter how bad the results anyone can say anything even if doing so gets a million people killed and they have 0 responsibility for it. If you can't manage to figure out how to do that nuance (it very much can be done), then just don't make those kinds of jokes. There are millions of things that have little to no direct connection to a parsons identity to make jokes about and being unwilling to remove the handful that do because you are too lazy/ignorant to be nuanced and to ambivalent to care about how it affects them. Makes you at best an asshole and at worst the racist, bigot, ect the insane twitter ranters will claim at the drop of a hat.

Bao's the only one talking about it openly mainstream and bringing attention to it, and it's not even in a negative light generally from anything Ive seen. So, because bringing attention to it is generally a good thing and helps normalize that thing, she is generally going to have a positive impact. This is what happened with Furries and a bunch of other Kink, Alt lifestyle, LGBTQIA+ communities. Because the people aren't used to attention unless it's negative they are painting it with a confirmation bias of being made fun of not able to tell the difference which is understandable.

Right? I don't get it at all, it's so much easier to just go do something else. For me it requires effort to get all worked up, investigate whats got me rustled and carefully word a response. It requires so much less to say "ah whatever, I'm out" to myself and go do something I actually like doing. I have no idea what went on with Bao vs the Twitterazi but I had to go to a friends funeral in 2015 after he died from a "adverse cardiac event" ... basically a heart attack with no external cause they could discern. He was very overweight and died a 24yo virgin because he would eat a whole large pizza for lunch and drink a 2ltr of soda with it ... I miss him and will live with the regret of never trying harder to inspire him to get healthier 😢 He was a good kid and didnt deserve to go out like that. i don't play dragon dogma, because i try to not promote game that have micro transaction inside SOLO GAME. I prefer studio like Larian or CD projekt.. since EU studio care more about reputation than making profit. (Ubisoft is an exception, but it's because people LOVE to COPY U.S here, they don't even realise it !)
There is a based way to be offended by something. Unfortunately, it's a largely forgotten art. What you do is: You sit there and think for a moment about why you've decided to be offended and when you figure it out, you work on yourself so it doesn't happen again. If you're offended by Bao's meme, Bao is not the problem. It's your mentality and you should be grateful, because it's much easier for you to change your mentality than it is for you to change Bao or go back in time to prevent the existence of that meme. The cringe way of doing it is screaming about it on social media and whining about how it's affecting your life and, ultimately, you're obsessing over it when it's not made for you, not in search of a solution, but only to make other people as miserable as you, as some form of misguided vigilante justice. This is why Twitter is full of cringy dinguses: The based dinguses don't go to Twitter when they're upset. They'd rather solve the problem than wallow and whine. If more people learned to work on themselves instead of feeding into drama, the world would be a better place.
The problem is the engagement-driven mechanic of social media that rewards drama queen behavior. If we imposed a sentiment-driven algorithm where positive, funny, and wholesome content gets more visibility this would end the trend of instigating drama for clout.
It's not cut and dry one way or the other. There's perfectly valid reasons to get offended by what someone says, from things as extreme as racial slurs to any manner of innocuous crap your garden variety incel would get mad at. There's no shortage of weird incel comments under vtuber clips that are getting offended over nothing, just in the opposite side of the online spectrum (twitter Vs 4chan). I very much doubt that your internal logic is actually consistent. I don't doubt for a second that on some clips channel you're getting upset by something stupid instead of just moving on like you're advising.

It’s very connected to the job of being a vtuber, that’s where announcements, networking, and pretty much everything but the actual streaming actually takes place. It’s neither realistic nor feasible to suggest that someone who’s job is so intertwined with one specific social media platform simply quit that platform and find a new one when no others offer even a fraction of what twitter does for vtubers.
Shame is a GOOD thing, its an unavoidable incentive to fix what you feel ashamed of. If you are fat and ashamed, GOOD! do something about it then instead of trying to cancel people because your precious feelings were hurt.
This might be a joke but I do wanna say, a lot of people that struggle with weight are mentally ill. Food can become an addiction or unhealthy coping mechanism. It's like asking an alcoholic to stop drinking in be healthy, it's deeper then that. And 'fat shaming' isn't even telling people how it is. Going like, hey you're a really unhealthy weight and you don't move around enough. You need to try and change for the sake of your health. No, fat shaming is bullying and basically dehumanizing someone for being overweight. It only leads to their mental health declining and many eventually ending their own lives before their unhealthy habits can. If you wanna help anyone with bad habits or addictions you need a combination of honesty and empathy. Being kind while also giving them the hard truths and pushing for them to change.

I'll be very honest. The reason I got back into thee gym was because I Was fat shamed. Sooo...as long as you aren't fat cause of a disease or something out of your control, a bit of fat shaming might just make the other person start working out and becoming healthier.
It takes less effort for the fats to get triggered than it does to get on a treadmill. So... of course they'd be pissy at nothing. It threatens their social credibility.
