Can't wait for series 2 .I think I have watched this excellent series three times now. I always catch a few nuances I missed previously. Such an excellent series
The Long Range Desert Group ,later called the SAS had many a man from the Arfrican colonies especially Rhodesia. Known for their shooting skills and tracking .Its a pity they don't have a character that represents them . C squadron (Rhodesia ) still remains vacant today.
Always some cnt upset about nothing. You could argue the Fijians are unrepresented in the air traffic control world. No! you chose this hill to die on you utter prk.
Your lucky they are not represented because this show is the biggest load off unrealistic crap I've ever seen. There is so much WW2 historical information here to work with in this subject but the makers of this drama have decided to put their own slant on things to satisfy modern audiences. Just ONE small fact is Blair Mayne never used the F word or allowed his men to use it either. He was a well educated man, a solicitor in Belfast. That guy on screen representing him plays him like hes a typical mad Irish man, out of control, F ing and Blinding. Do you think Churchill and Montgomery would allow someone like that to step in to lead the SAS when Sterling was in Colditz. No I think the Rhodesians have had a lucky escape.
19th of Oct. 1937, China, the campaign of Shanxi, several hundreds of Chinese infantrymen, attacked a Japanese airfield at night, destroyed 24 warplanes on the ground. Those men didn't have special training, didn't have any vehicles, they didn't even have enough machine guns, all they had just rifles and hand grenades, and their determination to protect their country from brutal Japanese invasion.
