I am really quite pleased that SAS are joining Skyteam. As a KLM/Air France Platinum Flying Blue Member, it will be good to use their long haul business class & get mileage credits. I understand that their long haul business is pretty good? Thanks again for another interesting video
SAS hasn't actually jouned Skyteam yet, and it make take some time before they do. It seems that one of the main reasons Air France KLM are interested in SAS is because they can make Copenhagen an extra hub. The Dutch government has placed restrictions on Amsterdam airport that means it won't be able to grow, so Copenhagen would provide a useful extra hub for them.
SAS needs more stability in their offering. Their premium offering within Europe has, in my opinion, fluctuated considerably during the last decade. It has not been intended tu be a business class product, but it manages to be a lesser product than regular economy class with many other carriers. Also, the hard product can vary. Your Plus seat can be a cramped seat on an old leased charter aircraft. With new capital in the company, I hope these issues can be fixed.
SAS leaving Star Alliance for Sky Team, or Scary Team as an ex-SAS CEO said yesterday in the press, is a huge mistake. My days of flying SAS has come to an end.....
